Technically - This Belongs In The Hosting / Tech Forum But..

Does anyone know where to find some kind of database that tells us what the 'optimum' amount of domains / emails / hits server setups can handle?

Is there a limit of domains or traffic levels for example that a server with this type of a setup:

Intel, 2.5 ghz, 256kb,512 MB ram, 80G HD.

Has compared to this type of setup:

Intel Xeon, 2.8 ghz, 512 MB ram, 1T HD.

Or does it depend on the type of scripting being used?

    Regards,

    Lee

its all dependand on what you are running on your server, for example if you are running only static galleries, you can support upto 20mbps traffic (something like 5000-6000GB/month) on a single processor 2.4GHz server with 1 GB RAM.

However, run one copy of Invision PowerBoard and it will cripple the same server when hitting less than 1000GB traffic on it.

    I know, I know...that helps so much

    cheers,
    Luke
