What screen resolution do you use?

I know most surfers use 800x - but what do you as webmasters use as your standard? ... and why. I'm curious from a design perspective and building to the target audience.

800 cuz my laptop is only a 15" screen and I work mostly off it! Plus I prefer to view my sites the same way as my surfers...happier surfers makes more sales!

I'd go batty on anything below 1024x768. I can't stand 800x600. It drives me nuts

I can barely even manage with one desktop. I feel like I'm wasting too much time scrolling and minimizing and maximizing.

Here's my desktop now, with 2 19'' monitors each at 1024x768. In the next couple of weeks I'm getting another 19'' LCD so that I'll have 3 of them all next to eachother in one large display, thereby completely eliminating the need to ever minimize another window ever again!!!!!!!!! WHEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!

As you can see I also greatly favor the quicklaunch bar over desktop icons.

And your desktop bugged me out just as much as your 'Behold' post did.

I know I'm probably in the minority, especially in this business, but your desktop would just drive me crazy LOL I can't have too much openned at once. I'd never get anything done.

i use 800x600 'cause my surfers do. then i test all my pages in 1024x768.

BDBionic, do you check your work in 800x600?

yeah i test it out with all resolutions.
i have one site that's not the most compatible with 800x600 but have found since day one the majority of my surfers have been 1024 or larger anyways.
and that if they're on a smaller reso, there are certain things I can expose them to more than others. :groovy:
