    P2P networks

I've been considering how allowing people access to promo clips on P2P networks like Kazaa and Limewire would affect sales.

This wouldn't work for affiliate programs, but have any site owners tried this? I know from just looking onto the networks that it's stuff with Sean Cody, Bad Puppy, ASG and such, but I don't know if that's really turned into sales...

    Re: P2P networks

I noticed there are a lot of what seem to be Falcon promo clips on Kazza. In the case of some of the other sponsors I have seen an awful lot of full-length movies being traded illegally.

I think you have nothing to lose. Difficult to tell whether it is effective tho.

As a regular part of the marketing I do, I upload teaser clips, trailers and preview video files to the P2P networks.
There's no way of tracking how successful the response is but they do spread around the P2P networks and users computers at an exponential growth rate.
It's one of those "any exposure is good exposure" things and so long as its not your entire full length video library circulating the P2Ps, it does help get the word out.

Exactly what I was guessing. I was gonna use Limewire (giving me access to Bear Share and gnutekkiums) and Kazaa (giving me access to Grokster and Morpheus). Any others you'd suggest?

Try out Soulseek, as it's an increasingly popular P2P system.

It's so easy to do and takes up so little time and effort that it's almost a waste not to do it.

All you have to do is put the files in to a folder, designate that one as the one you want to share on the different networks, and leave yourself logged in to them in the background while you're doing other things.

I sometimes just leave myself connected to the P2Ps while sleeping. Wake up in the morning and find that the files have been uploaded dozens of times. Then when awake and wanting my own bandwidth/CPU usage for myself, shut them down. Restart em again at the end of the night before goin to sleep

Just make sure the folder you have set to share has nothing in it BUT the porn files you want to upload. Don't wanna leave your illegal music collection handy for all the world to see
