Popularity is pretty subjective in porn. It's really hard to say.

Denis listed people such as Ryan Idol and Colton Ford, who are no longer performing at all. I wouldn't say they are among the most popular right now, but a lot of people still really love them. It's all in how one looks at it.

However, as someone who is very familiar and connected to the video side of the ndustry, I can tell you that Matthew Rush, Jason Adonis, Josh Weston, Robert Van Damme, Shane Rollins, Tag Adams, Jason Ridge, Johnny Hazzard, Eddie Stone, Brad Benton, Allex Collack, Jason Hawke, Ben Jakks, Owen Hawk, Dean Phoenix, Marcus Iron, Ace Hanson, Pete Ross, Zak Spears, and Jason Crew are currently among the most popular gay perofrmers in the business. There are a few others, but those are the big ones.

Well, if you're talking strictly by sales, that's something all unto its own. The ones I listed are popular among a general consensus of gay men who watch porn and from other porn critics.

Gay porn is not like straight porn. Our videos are priced much higher (sometimes upwards of $70), while most straight porn sells as $29.99 at the HIGHEST price. There's a huge disconnect between straight and gay porn in terms of sales. We don't sell as much, so our videos are priced higher. So I'm not sure how much a sales report would demonstrate the popularity of a certain star. A lot of gay guys rent porn. Your best bet is to probably to try and obtain some kind of report about which gay porn stars are the most searched on the Internet.

yeah, but there's pay per view which costs the same per minute as str8 porn. also gay porn costing more wouldn't change which stars sold the most.

sadly it is much harder to figure out which gay stars are searched than straight. i'm going to try to use google - overture was no help, nor was sex.com.

Of course these also happen to be the search terms that I happen to dominate. I would figure that Matthew Rush would be very popular, but he won't reflect in my stats. But like I said, these are the guys that people are lookin' to see on online by the bunches.

I also think that one of the biggest problems with finding the biggest, "money making" names is that that amateur and professional "pornstars" seem to be mixing. There adds a whole other problem with finding out who is more popular. While every site seems to separate amateur out from professional, they mix the guys together when polled for most popular.
