    Member Access for Affiliates?

Is it of benefit to an affiliate program to allow access to the member area of the site they are selling? I find that "endorsements" of sites usually results in better sales, and if an affiliate can see what they are selling, it makes sense to let 'em in and poke around.

Would you be more likely to promote a site if you know what members get?

This is a question about the new program I'm working on, not any kind of criticism about current programs. I'm thinking of some kind of qualification process, like sending x number of hits, rather than just giving access to every affiliate that signs up. I can see surfers signing up just to get in for free.

Yes it definately helps being able to give affiliates a limited access to the members areas of a paysite.

Thats actually something we're working on right now too.

Also, thumbs of the members area is a good tool for affiliates, especially if they are able to use them in their marketing

I think it is a great idea to allow affiliates to see the members area of the sites they are promoting. I know back in the days when I promoted other sponsors, it was much easier to sell sites that I had been into and knew what they were offering.

I have no problems setting up access to our members area for affiliates that want to see itbefore selling. I do this one by one and cant see automating it or having a blanket policy of giving all affiliates access. But if I check them out and find they are legit promoters, it certainly helps us both.

I do get some requests from people that are obvious scammers, surfers that think they can sign up for the affiliate program and get free access so they dont have to be a member. But that is pretty easy to weed out, I qualify them and look at their sites or however they are going to promote before giving it.

    Suki,

You hit the nail right on the head there, a few years back we gave a couple of affiliates a u/p for one of our sites and, literally, within 10 minutes it ended up on one of the trading sites we checked on regularly.

Another GREAT tool that can help affiliates promote a site is a breakdown of what is included with a surfers membership, this is actually something ive been working on for the last few weeks with Condom Cash and we should have the first sites breakdown posted on the support forum on Monday

Every little thing you can do to help affiliates counts.

    Regards,

Agreed Suki. We have no problem with giving time limited access to affiliates who we already know are trustworthy and of course to those that run established review. We would never give every affiliate that signs up access. We get so many submissions from people listing dead sites or tiny personal web sites with zero traffic...

Lee, That's exactly the type of thing I'm always looking for when it comes to promoting peoples sites.

The more I know about a site and the more tools or options available for promoting the site the easier it is to send great traffic that converts to customers. :light:

If I like a sponsor and I think (or know) that I will be successfull with promoting them, I will just buy a membership. And if the sponsor has a poor selection of banners or doesn't offer FPA's, I will use softcore images from the member's area to make my own ad materials.
