but I know that somewhere in the history there was a thread where someone had their site copied and all the links where intact. but i don't get how anyone can make money by copying another site, hosting it on their domain and all that...

which has happened it seems to me.

They may be hosting at the same place you do and its possible your host has mixed up ip addresses.

been checking, and got two sites like this.. but I don't know.. odd..

got a call into the host so I guess we'll find out soon enough, just seems awfully weird...

thanks though, didn't think of the host mixing up ips.. though you'd think sites they have online for ages wouldn't get mixed up like that.

allow me...

these people are using your pages intact in order to:
get listed at link sites
get listed at search engines

then they change those pages to whatever they think will make the money fastest while they have all that traffic generated by your pages.

this can harm you because link list owners (or if galleries are copied, tgp owners) may recognize your style and think it was your site that was changed and redirected. if they contact the sponsors for confirmation, it will be your accounts.

Mind you I noticed that what I thought was the server for DirectNIC it is in fact the old server my host had for nameserver... so it 'might' simply be a mix up at my host with a new account, but I don't know... they got the pages but no pics.. and my IP is close too.. so I don't know... i hate computers at times..

So assume it isn't a mix up, what is your suggested course of action?

you can often get the host to take it down if you show them the original. you can also let any link lists or tgps or sites you trade with know this is going on.

Yes, I am seeing hits to my two sites, seems I have two cloned or whatever it is they are calling this scam. I use the shorthand url in my internal linking structure which might be a mistake, but yes, 'gay-stories.html' is the right name, in fact all of the pages are showing as they are named on my own sites.

so i think, if this guy is hosting with my host, that perhaps the IP they gave him or set up somehow got crossed... but to cover my ass, i have notified the host, and Google as well... do not want a duplicate penalty

Yeah that is mine, and clicking any of the links, takes you right thru my site, which is odd, if they crawled it to steal it, didn't show up in the logs, so i kind of think its a host issue... but the other site, that one I don't know.. though its the same whois... so i suppose.
