Lavender Lounge Blog has been nominated for Best Blog Site in both the Industry Choice and Surfers Choice (and probably Sophie's Choice, too.) I'd appreciate the votes!

Voting is open till December 12 and the awards will be announced in Las Vegas.

I don't know if the Magazine-And-Awards-Show-That-Shall-Not-Be-Named is still forbidden at GWW, but you know who I'm talking about...

I should probably start a new topic, but in a nutshell, I've decided that attending yet another convention would not be beneficial for me right now.

I've found the connections I seem to make at conventions are mostly one-sided: I sign up for other people's programs, but don't get many links back to me. I need to come up with a more compelling reason for other webmasters to promote my paysite, but haven't come up with it yet.

Otherwise, I've met pretty much everybody I need to meet, and we either have a reason to work together or not. Until I, myself, make my own sites more condusive for other webmasters to promote my site, I'm just wasting my time. I have plenty of opportunities to get drunk with my friends right here at home, I don't need to go to Las Vegas to party!

If anyone was hoping to talk to me in Las Vegas, feel free to contact me at home, we might actually get something accomplished without all the distractions.
