Has anyone seen it? Apparently it's getting rave reviews and the conservatives are rooting for it to fail at the box office. Hmmmm I think i'll go to see it for that reason alone

The American Film Institute (pretty respected group of people) chose "Brokeback" as one of the top ten best movies of 2005.

Absolutely. And it's a front runner for Oscar victory as well. King Kong may trump it, but I think Brokeback has a very strong shot at it.
