    video editing software

so i've been looking into some good video editing software.. i'm really liking apple's final cut pro 5 and was wondering if anyone has any experience with it. From what i've heard video editing is way easier on a mac and i'm about to set up my pc to run both windows and Mac OS X for just that pourpose.

    any advice?

What are you doing editing for?!?! It all depends! Also Final Cut pro is the best and is the easiest but if you are looking for a cheaper route! that is good as well and your not going to be putting out falcon quality porn then just use Abobe Premier PRO 1.5 on a regular PC and wont cost you nearly as much and you can still make a quality product on it! Just it may take a bit longer!!
These are simple awnsers ! Just go back in the threads here and we have had many conversations about this! Plus Im sure rocky being a movie producer could tell you all of this!!

( Also there is alot of articles that explain these types of things .. just google it!)

As far as I know, it's not possible to run OS X on anything other than Apple hardware, so if you're going to run Final Cut, I think you'll need (and want) to have a Mac.

On the other hand, Premiere and Vegas are both decent tools for editing on the PC hardware.

Premier Pro is a good solution. There is also a Mac version of it, but unfortunately not longer updated.

I like premiere. It takes a while to master but it will do everything I want to do. Just not very user friendly, but you can buy or rent number of excellent video workhops that will teach you how to use it.

Honestly LOL I dont care if you could run MAC OS X on A PC that would be stupid! There is no reason not to use Abobe Premier! I read that article and nowhere in there does it say it would stable! ETC!! Josh honestly sweetie if you have MAC use final cut pro ......... If you have PC Use adobe premier PRO there bolth good programs!! But I will let you know there bolth not cheap either.. Unless you are planning to bootleg them which I wouldnt suggest at all!

there are lots of reasons not to use premier. it's huge, a system hog, it's slow and it's cumbersome. it also has poor support for some formats.

Yes but why have a new person that doesnt even know how to use the software go out and get all this expensive stuff.. Adobe is still a good program works for alot of people........ That is all I was saying! I use it all the time and I make some very cool stuff in it and I have not one problem with the program.. But Im also using SUPER COMPUTERS soo.. That could be it.. But still.. It is a nice program.. If you can go with Final cut then do it....But Sony Vegas is a neat program and if you know how to use Ulead Dvd Workshop that one is neat as well!!

yes, but you can get very good results from programs under $100 - ulead video toolbox, ulead video studio, video edit magic, video charge (as long as you don't have to add music) and pinnacle studio 9 (i hate 10 so far) all cost a fraction of premier and vegas. and you'll be surprised by the good results you can get from those programs, too.
