    The Google Toolbar..

Do you think many surfers actually use it?

Way i look at it is like this, certainly in the adult industry, its more something that a webmaster would use rather than a surfer surely?

Would be interesting if there was a list of the popular terms searched in the toolbar although i realize its unlikely that will ever happen

    Regards,

    Lee

I actually use it a lot. More then any search engine.

The thing I would do was use their ad things that come up on the side of a search page. You can see how many times each word is searched in google.

You'll get more with a kind word and a 2 by 4 then you'll get with just a kind word.

I also use Overture's search tool for keywords too.

I would like to use the toolbar to check out pagerank and stuff, but I'm on a Mac and I don't think they have a version that works on my computer.:goof:

PageRank is like cock size, it's over-rated, too focused upon, and doesn't mean a whole lot.

I have gallery pages that have number one rankings in Google for pretty good keywords, and they're ranked 2 out of 10. So, I say, "Who cares?" What am I more interested in a PageRank of 6 or a number one ranking in the engine itself?

From what I understand PageRank is the name of Google's algorithm, but the as for the PageRank that appears on the toolbar itself, I'm pretty sure I've read just about everywhere that it's become irrelevant because Google has needed to overhaul it but hasn't.

    Cheers

I use your toolbar daily as you know... just never use the search on google. I encourage anyone I know to use the added tool for checking out boards etc. - perhaps you should add sections such as tgp's and submitting press releases under a resource button

I use the toolbar at home on IE, but rarely ever use that browser. So I can't say I really check it out all too much although I have it. I initially put it on to check PageRank for curiosity's sake. Michael's right in PR not being the end all and be all of search engine placement anymore. Sometimes it serves as a tie breaker but really, search returns are so particular to the term searched for that a blanket ranking like PR - even by Google's own admission - doesn't really come in to play all to often.
I kept it on IE as a popup blocker, as my other browser at home - Mozilla - does that as well.
But any toolbar kind of bugs me... I don't like the space it takes away from the browser window. It's not too much overall, but enough to make a difference that bothers me as I'm really picky about that.
I know lots of people that use the toolbar - most often as a popup blocker.
