    Hi CharlieBrown!

I did try gambling affiliates at one point, but only as a third level sponsor.

It did ok for a little while then declined. I think that had a lot to do with the fact that the site I was promoting was scrubbing US surfers. Some sites will not allow US residents to join, and at the time it was my largest surfer base.

So I started selling adult toys and videos in that spot. It did better.

    My two cents...

You do realize by 'gay' I mean a man who has sex with other men?

    Speaking of Casinos

This article may be of some help to you..

    Marketing Casino Sites Online.

As webmasters we should always ensure that we make the most of our traffic irrespective of how much or, how little of it we have at any given time. With this in mind I thought it would be prudent to talk about one type of affiliate program that works well on just about any type of traffic, the casino affiliate program.

Casino Affiliate Programs - How They Work?

Casino affiliate programs in essence, act like a revshare program, this means that for every dollar amount one of your surfers deposits into their casino account you will earn a percentage of those funds. Most reputable casino sponsors today offer a revshare of between 25% and 50% depending on the balance in the surfers account and, whilst this may not seem like a lot initially, the revenue from casino affiliate programs can build up rather quickly.

    Marketing Casino Sponsors.

As with any type of affiliate program you need to be careful in how you utilize the casino links on your site for example, if your site is geared towards teens then you may want to utilize a different type of sponsor other than a casino on your main advertising areas for example, an exit link or perhaps an exit console would work rather than prominent positions across your entire site. That said, when using your advertising space for your chosen casino sponsor you need to ensure that you primarily DO NOT use standard size banners, from past experience, for whatever reason it may be, banner ads do not seem to pull as many clicks to a casino sponsor as they would other affiliate programs so you may like to use text links or flash ads to pull the clicks.

    Selling The Gamble.

As with many other types of program casino sponsors have a certain demographic that are more inclined to click your links however, with this demographic also comes the fact that many of these surfers will also have visited one or more online casinos prior to clicking the link on your site. Because of this you actually need to do some pre-qualifying of the surfer before you send them off to your casino sponsor, perhaps mentioning any offers that your casino sponsor has over the others that are available or listing all of the different games available to the surfer once they join the casino would be the selling point that you need to make as with any type of sponsor, pre-qualifying the surfer before they click thru to the sponsor will pay of dividends for your long term profit.

    Final Casino Tips.

Diversifying our revenue streams is a good thing for the webmaster however, by not focusing the product we are trying to sell our surfer correctly this diversification can also dilute the potency of not only our traffic but, the site overall, it may take you several tries in order to get the correct mix of advertising medium and sales pitch in order for you to start making serious money through online casinos however, I am more than positive that once you have found the correct method for your traffic source, you will see the benefits of casino sponsors where it counts, in your bank account.

I added a casino page last month on my porn site. I haven't done much with it, and subsequently it hasn't made any money. But then I've looked around and found that is a whole new world to step into.

I too would be interested in discussions about that. Maybe we could have another thread called something like "Promoting non-porn on your site; casinos" or something like that.

No - I've not sent much traffic to it or anything.

My original idea was to have some casino ads in my newsletter as a non-porn diversion to an otherwise all-porn newsletter. I ran a banner ad for my casino page in my newsletter - but (looking bashful) have kinda not done a newsletter in a month, so I haven't done additional marketing for it.

I've sworn to do another newsletter very shortly.. the more I do, they more I'll be marketing the casinos.

Now I have also been giving sports bettng a whirl on some of my other sites. One sells sports clothing and sports tickets - and I've just implemented a sports betting and betting exchange program for those. Once again - I'm just getting started, so I'm sort of putting my feet in the water, and going in slowly.

oooh wow porn AND gambling sites...I'm not mr morals but i try to choose the lesser evil, at least the surfer knows they aren't going to be taking the guys home, i would feel bad giving so many addicts false hopes of huge riches...

I've become a dreaded peddler of complete debauchery. Last month it occured to me - oh dear, look at me - look at my products:

    pornography
    smoking
    gambling

Of course I think it's humorous.
Regarding my casino project, I guess another one of my official responses would be - well if its good enough for Donald Trump, it's good enough for me.

I think we should just register an online mega mall of vice. Sell porn, liqour, tobacco, drugs, gambling...we could have a dating service for cheating spouses...

That way, it could be one-stop shopping

oh ooops! haha I forgot -

I'm also in BevMo's affiliate program too. They will mail order wine and beer. So I forgot about the booze.

I guess an aggregation of my sites is like one big Joan Crawford gay-sex scandel.

MSN Games? Yahoo Games? Maybe Pogo.com?

On a related note - The Austin newspaper ran a story last month about how cable channels like ESPN have decided to reject advertising from internet casinos during all these "Celebrity Poker Tournament" shows.

For us as affiliates that actually good news, since people will need to turn to marketing from us to participate.

One of the reasons I started looking into casino affiliates is because my porn site - unlike my others - get a hefty amount of International traffic.

I just like the way that whole market lends itself to an international audience.... making it an ideal crossover from my porn site.

If anyone is interested in signing up to the program I'm with - which like I said looks good to me, but I really haven't done any major marketing with yet --- private message me or email me - and I'll send you a signup link.
