    Do You Plan 'Long Term'?

When it comes to your business?

I forget who it was but, i was having a conversation with someone a week or so back and meant to ask this question then but got tied up with other stuff, when it comes to running your businesses, do you plan for the long term prior to actually doing anything?

By that i mean, do you go over the potential scenarios that every site you put online could perceivably put you in? Legal, financial, personal, etc?

Im often amazed at how many webmasters in the adult industry put little to no thought in to the stuff they upload on the web. It seems like more and more these days individuals are simply trying to make a quick buck without any forward planning for growth or investment.

So what are your thoughts? Do you forward plan your projects? Do you know what you will be doing in 1 month? 3 months? 6 months time? How about in 5 years time?

Just curious how many of you folks actually have a solid game plan in place when it comes to 'porn'.

    Regards,

    Lee

    Short Answer > Yes.

Longer answer > ain't telling.. but okay, in all seriousness yes I do consider a lot before beginning a site. Sometimes its quite involved, but right now I am in year 3 of my current plan.. and so far I'd say with a few alterations that I am sticking to that plan.

Naturally you can't envision all that will effect your plan, but you plan on zero sales for x period and then figure out how you can adapt to those changes. A good business plan will have room for adaption, growth, catastrophes... if it doesn't it isn't a good plan.

Problem I think is that what people call long term these days. Corporations even seem to have forgotten that 5 years is not long term. Most corporations today look at next quarter even as long term.

yes, i did. that's why i had already decided to pull down everything on june 22nd and not look back - because this was a possible scenario i considered. i have a plan that goes 5 years with a lot of potential variations. and we have shorter goals within those 5 years.

as in construction any job worth doing should be done right the first time , but as of lately i see these "neighborhoods" going up over night with shotty workmanship and cheap materials so no wonder they fall apart so quickly.

without a doubt,.. I never do things at the last moment with out a plan!
I have seen plenty of examples of it not working out! if you dont plan ahead as well as there has been times when I havent and it messed stuff up and things either didnt turn out the way I wanted them to be or they didnt turn out at all.. .. I never like to do things on the last moment and I never count the day Im in... If I have 5 days to get it done I always tell myself I have 2 or 3 days .. so on and so on... It is very important to plan ahead I think... I never like things to be half assed.. or not presented well but thats just me :yeah:

I have a general idea of where i'd like to see myself in the future, and a pretty good idea of how to get myself there. is that a plan?

I find that my life is much more exciting if I don't plan. At all.

I have no idea what I'm doing tomorrow. Have no idea what I want. No idea what I'll be doing next week or month or year or even in 5 minutes.

Businesswise? Hell if I know. Who caaaaaaaaaares?!?! Money makes itself. I just show up, pretend like I'm doing something, and collect a check for it now and then.

And I don't even know when I'll collect the checks! Usually I'll just go write myself a payroll check whenever the urge hits or I feel like I could use some more money.

In fact, although there's a shitload of work stuff I could be doing right now, who cares!?! Consequences? I'll find out when they happen. Keeps it fun. I'm gonna go to Disneyworld right now. It's sunny and warm outside and hopefully the lines will be short.

    Later!!!
