Video Editing - Cost

Hey guys,

I have a number of vids that need editing and encoding. They each contain about 40-50mins of raw footage that need to be edited down to about 10-12mins each, and then rendered in Quicktime and WMV in two speeds (300 and 700k). They’re mostly solo with some duos.

What's a good price for this per video? These are stuff i shot a while back when i was totally amateur (now i'm just somewhat amateur ) so they're gonna need a little more work that normal I’m sure.

one guy i talked to was quoting me $500 and i just thought that was crazy.

they're all on minidv. so i guess i'd have to ship them to the editor??? btw...does your friend (Frank was it?) from Montreal still do editing?

as far as i know, frank does still do editing and i icq'ed him this thread, but he isn't around. bec's friend ken also does editing.

i hope you copy the minidv's before sending them - just in case the shipper loses the package or puts it by a magnet.
