How Long Did It Take You To Go Full Time In The Industry?

Just wondered how long it took you to quit your day job and start working on 'porn' full time?

If you havent gone full time yet, how long do you think its going to take you?

Actually, do you even think you'll be doing this full time or, is i just a hobby for you?

i've never had a "day job". i've managed strip clubs, worked as a dominatrix and owned phone sex lines.

when we started on the internet in 1996 we were already full-time in adult as we were advertising phone sex lines in print. when we started advertising on the web, i fell in love with how instead of taking months for a glossy magazine ad to come out, it took me about 12 seconds to ftp it.

we were working the web exclusively by november 1996.

I've been working it full-time ever since I started. I started out in the mainstream web and about 2yrs into that I quit my job and went full time. I think that was about 4 years ago. Even in those first 2 years it was never just a hobby for me.

I've been full-time for about a year. I worked part-time for about 3 years as a hobby and for the extra cash. When my income had grown enough to cover my day job's salary... that's when I quit. It was perfect timing too. I had neglected my responsiblities at my regular job and I was about to get fired anyway. I worked in sales and most of my day was spent out of the office. I would go home and work on my websites. Lol. I think I was actually more productive when it was a hobby.

I have been doing this fulltime since 1996 when I started a personal site and used Adult Check AVS. I expanded to paysites a couple of years after having learned enough to provide more profitable site.

I was running my own company at the time doing tech support, my "porn" side project just kept growing over about 1 year till I had to make a choice , tired of flying all over the USA by this time I chose CBL and havnt looked back.

I had 2 jobs before going into this biz. One was with an ISP that I did from home, the other was with my BF in directing/producing/editing mainstream projects. I still do that.

I started just to make some extra money on the side, but a few months later I found out I was going to get laid off from the ISP job. I put more effort into the biz rather quickly. I never actually clocked my hours, but it certainly feels like FT most of the time.

As a writer I doubt I'll ever go full time unless I start doing scripts. I don't mind. I still enjoy the job. ^_^

For me 3 years working on avs whilst in full time employment - then i took the plunge 5 years ago and still have not looked back

I work part time cause I am busy raising two kids, aged 2 and 4 I quite my full time military position 5 years ago and went into web publishing + children bearing

about 24 hours ... I couldn't work a regular job at the time due to medical stuff (still can't), and been putting everything into making this work as a home based job.
