In Your Opinion - What Constitutes 'Hardcore'?

Just wondering what you folks thought about this question?

How do you, on your sites, define 'hardcore' content?

If a guy is showing his dick, is that hardcore in your eyes?

For me, i tend to think of hardcore as fucking, sucking, insertions or cumshots, anything else i tend to place in the 'softcore' category.

What are your thoughts on this?

Hardcore to me, these days, means a lot more than just fucking and sucking. To me, that's pretty tame. Hardcore used to mean those things, but not in today's more sexually informed and liberated culture. I tend to think of "hardcore" as the more extreme stuff: Fisting, watersports, extreme content, etc. etc. But that's just me.

I'm not even sure where the term "hardcore" comes into play. I would tend to think of it as synonymous with "sexually explicit", but I could be full of shit.

Depending on whose definition you use, "sexually explicit" means touching genitals, whether with hands, lips, genitals, or any other body part. Again, subject to interpretation, but several attorneys have pointed to DoJ correspondence that says that an erection alone doesn't constitute sexually explicit material... but of course, any penetration, etc would be explicit.

what I think is hardcore (fucking, sucking, rimming, etc) is way different than what I define as hardcore for the purposes of traffic (anything other than soft cocks).

LOL! I'm pretty vanilla in my sex life. Vanilla with a slight twist, so I know what you mean.

But the word "hardcore" by its very definition implies "extreme." Hardcore rock, hardcore skating, etc. etc. I get annoyed when people take words and twist them around to meet their own agendas. If someone promises me "hardcore" action, I want to see REAL hardcore action, not just two young twinks sucking each other off. I better see some rope and some blindfolds, damn it! LOL!

It's like taking a skinny guy with a hairy chest and calling him a "bear." It's just not accurate.

That's the writer in me, though. The businessman in me understands the idea behind appropriating certain terms for monetary gain, but I still wince when I see people using inaccurate "blanket" terms to lure people to their sites. To me, it's kind of like false advertising.

I agree with Ken that these days, vanilla sex seems pretty boring. But legally speaking, I think desslock is right. Or at least that was true at one time. I remember Lee Noga explaining a few years ago in an online chat that simply put, hardcore in the legal sense means "showing pink". So that would include any picture that shows a man's erection, or a women with her legs spread. What do they call that region again? I'm not that familier with that area of a woman. Actually, I didn't say that vanilla sex is boring. What I said was that, so far, all the definitions of "hardcore" have been rather vanilla. Not at all what I think of when I hear the word "hardcore." For me, it's just a matter of having the product to back up the description of the product. Mean what you say.
