    Gay Adult Casting Agencies

Can anyone list any gay adult casting agencies or sources of casting for gay adult videos, or perhaps even advise on the best places to run ads for models for video work?

We are starting a new video line and are looking to start casting for the first feature right away, however, the boys we are getting in response to our online ads are not at all what we are seeking, even though I think the money we are offering is pretty good. $1000 and up..

    Any help or advice?

Hi Basschick, craigslist.org, Los Angeles we have used several times before without great success. it's usually the guys we don't want in porn videos.

I have always wondered how much they got paid, is a 1000.00$ each standard? I would like to try to start making my own movies in a few years.

Tom, There are many "reputable" companies out there, and many who do not deliver what they promise. Best bet always is to ask around and check reputations. I have 3 agencies here in South Florida, representing several hundred guys. Feel free to check them out, www.CashModels.com, www.studiooptions.com (coming soon) and www.FabScout.com.
Be sure to explain exactly what you need and approximatly when, to make our lives easier, and we will take it from there.
    Thanks and good luck

You do realize by 'gay' I mean a man who has sex with other men?

    Models

We only shoot video and most recently, had the best luck with Craig's List... reliable, dependable and willing to work. Naturally, an interview is essential. This helps weed out the druggies and drunks. Our very best models in the past few months have come from the List and best yet, it is free! Our phones ring off the hook all day long!

Personally, $1,000 is way out of line unless you are hiring someone to work for days on end...and unless you are hiring Top Tier models...(you didn't hear this from me!)

$400-$500 is average and $250 is ok for newcummers.

Don't let anyone tell you different, we know this business from all angles, inside and out!

There is no doubt that hiring a seasoned professional is better and is worth the extra cash...

    Good luck!

Thanks for the price info I have always wonder about that, I guess it would not really cost as much as I was thinking to make an exclusive video. I guess I need to get a camera and maybe take a class soon

It actually depends on the company and the model. Standard money for a porn model who works steadily is usually $1,200-$1,500, though many models do ask for and get upwards of $2,000-$5,000. If you're a "star," you can, of course, get more. I know one model who once asked for $10,000 for one scene. And got it.

Brand new models in the porn biz may only get $500, depending on the company. Hell, I know one company that only pays its models $250 for a scene. Sometimes it may behoove a model to do one or two of those movies just to get the experience before trying out with some of the bigger companies.

Pierre Fitch might be able to shed a lot more light on this than me, however. I only know based on what the studio heads and models tell me.

$400-$500 might be average for Internet companies who are shooting video, but in the brick and mortar world (Rascal Video, Falcon, Raging Stallion, etc.), I'm pretty sure it's a bit higher. There was a recent panel where a bunch of gay porn directors were asked what the average "salary" for a porn star was, and they mostly said between $1,000 and $1,200.

I was always really under the impression that 99% of the models would get paid less as things went along, every one wanting new exclusive guys. In my opinion after you see the same guy in a film a few time it loses its luster a bit. I guess if they could really act that would help LOL but I don’t really see to much of that. For 10,000$ he had better be a real famous first time guy, or one hell of a actor. Cute str8 guys are a dime a dozen, and I would think 30%+ would do a movie if the money was right “1000.00” or less.

Well, from what I know, it depends. For instance, as your star is "on the rise," your asking price goes up. I was dating a porn star whose asking price was $3,000-$4,000 per film. He wouldn't work for anything under $3,000, unless it was a movie that he REALLY wanted to be part of. He eventually went on to become one of the most sought-after porn stars in the biz. He won all the awards and did all the big events, then took a year off. When he decided to get back into the game, he found that he could no longer demand such a high amount. So, in effect, you're right, but I also know of porn stars who've been in the business for a LONG time who still get paid a good deal of money.
