    Need A Renaming Program..

Anyone have any suggestions on an application that will let me rename files either in a specific numerical order, 0001.jpg, 0002.jpg, etc or, from a list of file names that i specify?

Even better, if you know of one that does both thatd be cool too

    Regards,

    Lee

This is the most powerful one I've ever come across. It can do renames, find and replaces, etc. You can come up with some pretty complex rules if you want to get fancy with it. But it will certainly do what you need

    it's donationware (their word).

I switch to MAC about 2 years ago, but I do know that I did renames based on a list back in the day using the program. Let me ask my guys and see if someone here knows how to do it. I'm 100% sure though that it will do it.

In "Naming Rules" use the Prefix Dropdown to select "Rename from a list". You can then open a list, copy in the text of the list, etc.

I think that should do it.

I see you found your answer to the mass renaming problem but just in case your still looking there is a free little program I use called "Smart Rename" from http://www.xbytesoft.com.

ACDSee. No matter the file type, it will rename with ease.

    Fast fast fast!
