    Str8 Porn?

I was wondering if there is a difference in str8 traffic than gay traffic, are str8 sites more stable? I have sold recurring memberships to the largest and best gay sites online and the members in these sites are still really flaky. This is one of the big reasons why so many sites don’t have cheap trial memberships anymore. I am beginning to believe that the only way to be really profitable is to make a large number of second rate sites with about the same content in different groupings to appeal to the more transient viewers.

what sites do you consider "the largest and best gay sites online"? if you mean sites like the topbucks sites, except for the reality sites, those sites are all plugins so of course those sites don't retain well... try sites like randyblue and corbinfisher if you want to see retention.

I have sold randyblue and corbinfisher its all about the same. You made str8 sites? Or are all porn sites like this, I really am thinking about just cranking out BS members sites. I really dont see any point in spending so much time creating one site if people are just going to be looking for the BBD “Bigger and Better Deal” Hell even if I have 75 recurring members a site, if I have 20 of them I would be doing ok.

you are too new at this and you make a lot of assumptions.

lots of people see good retention off those sites. if you are seeing mostly cancels, you are either marketing the sites poorly or you are selling your own members who are already paying one site membership and don't want to pay two for an extended period.

Thax but, I don’t want to argue about retention rates for randyblue and corbinfisher, first off I am not trying to sell for other sites. I was asking about the retention rates of str8 sites verses gay sites for webmasters that own both. I was trying to get a feel of the whole porn industry not just the gay end of it “no pun intended”

You do realize by 'gay' I mean a man who has sex with other men?

It has been my experience that overall, straight traffic converts at around 15% less than gay traffic does when using comparable numbers and retention on straight sites is around 30% less than on gay sites when using comparable member numbers.

Of course the more specific the niche the lower those figures are.

    Regards,

I can really see that, but would the numbers of potential members also be 90% more, and in the end you would end up with more members or do you think that the str8 market is so over saturated that the opposite would be true?
