Free galleries w/ affiliate content?

I have been seeing an increasing number of these type of free sites. Can you make money on free sites using an affiliates content to promote their pay sites? I tried this a while back but didn't have much success with it and it just seemed to just use up my bandwidth.

Free sites have always done well for us, whether using paid content or free content from affiliate programs.

Ultimately, as with any promotional tool, it only works as good as the person using it.

For me it's working. But I think it's also important the combination I use. I have free galleries but also a TGP, toplist and a link directory. Of course, you need a lot of traffic to get success. Have a look at my site if you like: www.thebestboys.com
