    what gateway software?

We have finally got our own merchant account though ynot billing, while this is a good thing I now find myself faced with the daunting task of basically writing a whole merchant billing system for our site. while this may be ultimatly possible it will be a very time consuming thing to do. are there any membership software packages available or is it a case of doing it myself or hiring a programmer to custom write one?

Is this an independant merchant account? You should get in touch with netbilling as they are THE adult gateway providers, they will be able to hook you up with all the software you will need.

    cheers,

Netbilling is a gateway. You keep the numbers and aren't held hostage

They will provide as much or as little service as you need. You can use or not use them for customer service, you can use or not use them for fraud scrubbing, really the choices are yours.

You should at least go to their website and check it out as all this information is there. If you have or will have an affiliate program, you can use something like NATS to handle that part of it and it integrates right into Netbilling.

I am still interested in finding out of ynot is providing truely portable merchant accounts, ie, once you have the merchant account you are not tied to using their systems.

I wrote them an email, I got a quick reply but when I asked them for more detailed info they never responded, that was just after you started this thread so a few days ago.

    cheers,
    Luke

I just heard back from ynot, as follows:

"We offer a direct merchant account. It can handle all aspects of
processing a transaction. What it wont do is manage your affiliate." Then he recommends NATS, MPA3 and Executive Stats.

    Very interesting!

good question. Ynot is one of the merchant accounts we just got I am still setting up all the databsee bnack end, for this and 2 other merchant accounts ( I learned from the ibill thing to NEVER just have 1 merchant account ) I will let ya know. one thing i will say is the metherd for autherization is really confusing, their API is weird using soem odd XML code i havent seen done before.

anyone already using ynot can help clarify this?
