Army Charges 7 in Sex-For-Money Web Site

"RALEIGH, N.C. - The Army has charged seven members of the celebrated 82nd Airborne Division with engaging in sex for money on a Web site, authorities said Friday.

Three of the soldiers face courts-martial on charges of sodomy, pandering and wrongfully engaging in sexual acts for money while being filmed, according to a statement released Friday by the military.

Four other soldiers, who were not named, received nonjudicial punishments.

The Army has recommended that all be discharged.

While the charges do not mention the name of the site, the division has said previously it was investigating allegations that soldiers appeared on a gay porn Web site. A spokesman for the division said Friday the charges are a result of that investigation."

Doubtfully as there's no homosexual conduct involved. They might get a little slap on the wrist for "conduct unbecoming..." (at least that was the little catch-all in the Canadian forces -- don't recall what it is in the U.S. but there's a similar charge.)

that being said.. there are a few things that are making me scratch my head...

The military knew about this pretty much from the beginning.. there's no way that a site that's pretty much common knowledge to every gay man with a dial-up connection isn't going to be known about by the pentagon.. I know the country is bein grun by imbicilies, but there's only limits to even THEIR incompetance..

I just wonder why they chose NOW of all times.. we're al war and there's a "Stop loss" order going on.

And they only went after 7 guys and said that was all there were... which we all know is just silly.

I'm thinking that with the new anti-don't ask don't tell movement gaining steam that they're trying to create a public outrage about how gays in the military just want to fuck all the time.

I also think that it might have something to do with how many sites there ARE with military men. And openly so. They couldn't stop the whole thing, but they've been REALLY making a big media deal out of this in an order to get the word out to other service men to not make porn. Or make porn as a way to get out of the army.
