OK, here's my idea.

On the straight side of our business there's a site called Crack Whore Confessions (I know how to link but am choosing not to). So how about TweakerBoys.com, a site featuring gay or straight tweaked-out guys talking about their lives and jacking off or having sex. You could do a little graphic showing how many days they've gone without sleep and how many times they've had unprotected sex in the last 24 hours.

Am I serious? Decide for yourself. Would it make money? I sure think so.

I certainly hope you are joking because that is the most disgusting thing I've heard in a long time. It's not even a funny thing to joke about! You live in SF and you've seen what meth is doing to our community.

The sad part is that you're probably right. It probably would make money. I can't think of anything more tragic than watching some tweaked-out guys tragically pulling on their dicks in vain trying to get hard while they shake and rattle 'cuz of all the shit they're jacked up on. But CrackWhoreConfessions does really well. I'm not sure how much of the site is for real, though, or if it's all just a joke. One of my co-workers here at AVN Online did a story on it, but I didn't feel like checking it out.

could always be in a niche that totally doesn't interest you and you would never in a million years be interested in actually personally developing it into an actual site... good gracious... it's just a chance to be creative and have fun...

there aren't a gazillion people waiting to steal anyone's ideas...

no one would ever post an idea that they actually had "interest in creating themselves" - - - I'm not stupid...


I do know though - how one CAN have the FEELING that their ideas are going to get stolen... I do know how that can and does happen all the time...
but if it's in a niche that has NO interest for the person typing the idea - then who gives a crap...

actually i've had several ideas stolen. there are a lot of lurkers on this board, and we don't know any of them. also people get excited and tell friends - who might also tell friends. an idea posted on a board could easily make the rounds to 100 or 200 people - most of whom are webmasters. but since i'm no longer working explicit...

i had an idea for a str8 site i'd love to see developed but after last june, i won't be able to do that. there's a b pornstar - but a high b pornstar. he's cute, he's very funny, and he can even act. he's been in a LOT of movies in many niches - and his movies are very available through wwc. heck, he might even be findable to contribute to the site.

also thought about a "public twink pics" site where the cameraman supposedly finds underdressed twinks in public places. some could be messing around, or nude sunbathing but it would be shot a little lower quality to give it the real feel that would have to be involved to make the site seem more authentic.

I've had a couple ideas stolen as well and leaked to other webmasters after letting go a company I had hired that wasn't performing. I thought we left on good terms but oddly enough a couple months after I let the company go two competing websites, that hired the company, had these niches up and running, go figure. This was a little over a year ago.

The ideas were straight porn from a gay mans perspective and dildo moulding of your amateur models cock then selling the dildos to subscribers.

Even with a signed non compete clause and confidentiality agreement it's very difficult to prove your ideas are leaked. I'm almost positive the straight porn from a gay mans perspective site had absolutely no idea of the situation so no hard feelings whatsoever. Live and learn no big deal.

This is why I never discussed the sleepingmen.com nightvision site until I had all the base content shot and site designed and uploaded.

Well I was certainly not serious about doing such a thing myself. I agree with you Keith about the damage that meth has inflicted on the gay community. And while ethics in this business can be hard to qualify and agree on, it would definitely violate my personal beliefs. But if I had no such beliefs and just wanted to make a buck, I'd be trolling the city now for tweakers.

but my intention was NOT to have anyone post an idea that was of INTEREST to them - or something they were considering doing...

just some off the wall - daydreaming - "what about a site like ____" sort of stuff...
