    Where should I move ?

It's that time again for me at the end of April. I'm in Denver now and well, it's been good for work but kind of quiet and not alot of industry things going on. I was looking at West Hollywood/Hollywood, Chicago, maybe San Diego. I like lots of gay people around me and a city that's pedestrian friendly. I want to find a city with plenty of husky guys to play with and film.

    Tired of Denver huh?

I love it here... so close to the mountains, you can go hiking, biking, camping all from just an hour's drive.

But if I were to go anywhere else, it would have to be the ocean. But without the hurricanes.

I love living in Phoenix but it wouldn't fit your parameters--ya gotta have a car here and the gay population is spread out. On the plus side, in all my 5 years here my house has never been destroyed by earthquake, hurricane, blizzard, mudslide, wildfire, or tornado. I paid less for a big mountainside home with a great view of the city and 1/4 acre lot than I would for a 2 bedroom condo in San Francisco. By car, the Grand Canyon is 5 hours away, skiing at Flagstaff is 2 hours, Las Vegas 4, Rocky Point Mexico [beaches] is 3 hours, and San Diego is 5.
Sounds like you need a West Hollywood or Chicago. Personally, I am not fabulous enough for WeHo.

    Hi Whack and Paco,

Whack, Denver is a cool city. Lots' going for it for sure. Just didn't connect with the people here for some reason. It's hard to explain. I love the ocean too. I was in SF but the water is coooold there almost all year round. West Hollywood would probably get me closer to a year round summer climate. San Diego is cool too. I really like the Hillcrest area.

Paco, I have thought about Canada for sure. Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver being the cities that I have the most interest in. I'm still sort of researching things as far as migrating to Canada. I don't know French and that counts against you if you want to migrate.

    Chad,

I've spent a month in the summer there. I really could not handle the heat and it is very spread out. I love to vacation there, especially in the winter. I love the desert southwest, I will always consider it home even though i spent my youth in texas. I have zero interest in the LA aspect of West Hollywood. I just like the warm weather and it's very liberal so those things are always gonna appeal to me.

I liked San Diego while visiting for a few days - didn't go out to gay bars etc but I liked the climate. I also liked the climate in Florida - but as the global warming is becoming more and more of an issue, hurricanes will appear more often.

My HH, you sure are a nomad... and I don't mean in the maxpower/newguy/nomad kind of way. You don't seem to stay too long in any one place. Doesn't it get expensive moving your stuff across the country all of the time?

Here is a list of place I would like to move within the US...

    San Diego:
pros - the most beautiful weather in the US, the Pacific, Black's Beach
cons - EXPENSIVE real estate, polluted air, too republican/conservative, unchecked illegal immigration, attitude

    Phoenix:
pros - the mountains for hiking, nice weather, inexpensive real estate, close to the west coast and Sea of Cortez
cons - SUMMER, urban sprawl, pollution, unchecked illegal immigration, that deadly virus you get from mold spores in the ground which scares the hell out of me

    Hawaii:
pros - perfect weather, beauty, the pacific
cons - island fever, expensive, Volcanos, Tsunamis, cockroaches as big as your torso

Florida (I'm gonna lump it all together as the pros and cons are similar):
pros - the weather, the ocean, relatively inexpensive realestate
cons - HURRICANES, humidity, redneck, bugs, unchecked illegal immigration

Lol, I probably offended many of you who love where they live. That wasn't my intention. Just remember, I live in Dallas which has most of the cons and almost none of the pros of these other locations. I'm convinced that Dallas is hell on earth.

    Hi Pierre and Xtr8guy,

Pierre, can't believe there's that many clubs w/full time dancers. Thanks for the links. The boys are hot and I can't tell you how much I love uncut cock. I love it and I know the boys in Montreal have the best ones. I'm gonna look into it more. If I do my North American Cock Tour, I will definitely make Montrael a destination to look forward to.

Xtr8guy, yes I wander the US aimlessly sometimes. I can't tell you how many households I've given away to friends. Most of the left over stuff ends up in the condo in Santa Fe. It does get expensive but that's the way it goes. I may just take the show on the road for a while. I like the idea of traveling to new cities, (no leases !!!!) and just seeing what they have to offer. I lived in Dallas for a while, off Mahanna/Lemmon. It was cool. I enjoyed my time there.

OH yeah-- THAT ... valley fever.... That is kind of a big drawback, but hardly anybody cool ever gets it.

I better work on being cool then.
Seriously, my partner and I will most likely being moving to Phoenix in the next few years. We spent 2 weeks there last fall and I fell in love with hiking in the mountains. Besides, my dear sister lives there. It will be nice being near family again.

Nah, don't think West Hollywood... think Silverlake! Oooh yeah.

I live on the edge of West Hollywood, but the prettyboy twink scene is not for me, personally. But the artsy scene in Silverlake, not to mention the best leather bar in LA, the New EAGLE LA, is my fav hangout.

    Hi Don Mike,

I was thinking more of an artsy, villagy, bohemian type neighborhood. I've only been to west hollywood, i've never been to Silverlake. Everytime I hear that word, I start singing that song about silverlake by aimee man... anyway, i digress. I think that it's going to be between silverlake (somewhere in the l.a.vicinity) and chicago. I'm not ready for canada just yet... but I have my eye to the north.

I digressed so far I forgot to mention that I'm definitely more of an eagle type guy then the twink thing but i like diversity in the places I go out to. I miss all my fetish nights at blowbuddies in SF, anything like that in LA ?
