member emails question

i'm just going through our members' emails, and over 70% are free web-based emails, mostly hotmail with yahoo a close second. are other paysite owners seeing this as well?

absolutely. I think a lot of people join paysites with the thoughts that they will be subscribing to spam at the same time, perhaps based on previous experiences.

yeah I dont blame them.
Ive had emails that I kept clean and happen to join 1 paysite with it and now I get a lot of spam on them.
I guess many paysite owners sell your email to EVERYONE, because I get dozens a day on my formerly clean email addresses, .

i don't blame the members. i halfway joined 2 paysites - didn't even join - and one or both sold my email.

also a lot of members want a seperate hidden e-mail adress for porn. especialy if they are in th ecloset. imagine the wife clicking on the main e-mail and getting a "your membership has just been renewed" message from "BigDicksUpYaButt.com" or soemthing like that

When I was running email lists for a computer newsletter and a dating tips newsletter and a real estate list; the top 3 email addys was hotmail, yahoo, and aol.

gmail was just starting up so there weren't too many then; but now I think you'll find that most lists will also have quite a few of those.

You sparked my interest so i just checked our member emails on Condom Cash and indeed, it does look like Yahoo and Hotmail are dominating the list.
