I believe Badpuppy is probably way up there. Something like 15,000 members.

Personally I would be happy to get 1000 stabilized members, but that will take years of work I think.

One of the advantages of attending industry trade shows is that you can personally see for yourself the businesses represented, who the people are and even speculate more accurately on the question "Are they making significant amounts of revenue"

What does this mean for you? Well obviously as affiliates we are interested in selecting a program that is marketable..... so for me surveying at the shows is how a big part of how I have selected the affiliates which I spend my time promoting.

sean cody is doing well but a TON of his stuff is all over the P2P networks... thats gotta hurt him, although some of it probably helps promote his stuff too.

in addition to affiliate advertising, I think he advertises in free gay magazines & papers around the US. It probably doesnt bring in a lot of sales, but helps with branding a lot im sure... if its one of a few or the only paysite advertising, it catches more attention and probably generates a little good word of mouth.:cute:

Ya someone told me yesterday they love his site but only download his videos for free, and would never pay for porn, if I was him I would work on stopping that.

We've found that although there are those that will just view our free content without ever making a purchase, over time offering free content is a way to become the "trusted source" to prospective customers.

SeanCody also has a pretty elaborate preview area, much bigger and extensive than any other preview area on any other site. I'm not sure if that helps them or hurts them though. Maybe that's part of the strategy get em hooked on those 5 to 10 very high quality screenshots then reel em in.

yeah, that whole our-content-is-all-over-the-place is an interesting one. there's that whole probelm of just too much free porn out there, but we always give out a bunch of "samples" on the free networks (yahoo, usenet, etc) to try to get our branding out there,.

my theory is that people sign up for pay sites based on a particualr model (or the looks of all models, i.e. "the Sean Cody look")... so if I give out 10 photos of a model and someone totally falls in love with that model, I think they'll come to my site and sign up just to get more of that guy. or more of all our guys, who have a similar "look."
