is it possible to change domain registrars?

let's say i have a domain that i registered through networksolutions.com. is it possible for me to transfer that domain to another registrar, let's say...godaddy.com or register.com or whatever?

Yes, and its totally simple as well. Just go to your new registrar and you will find the link to transfer a domain to them, then follow their instructions. It usually takes a few hours to complete, and when the new registrar picks up the domain you may have to play with the DNS to ensure its correct.

For godaddy, I pulled this link for you: https://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/trans...se=%2B&ci=6054

I've heard great things about GoDaddy, but I also really like Enom, they have subaccount support so if you separate things between different corporate entities, you can easily group domains for different entities together, and move them between subaccounts pretty easily. GoDaddy may have something similar.
