you can either pay someone like DonMike to write and record you a tune, look for "royalty free music" in the search engines and read the licenses to make sure they allow the music to be used on porn or you can buy it from jay.

You can also check out dawnmusic.com. They sell 1000's of clips for around $12 to $20 a pop with unlimited useage.

i didn't care for their selection but the prices are fair. looks like a lot of their stuff is just loops, though.
But why would you want "clips" for entire movie scenes? I know most bg music gets repetitive, but that'd be a little too much.
From what I've been told, most of the studios buy custom music from someone they know personally, or met online. Those that can't afford that option go with stock music from the usually less than spectacular royalty-free sites.
Thanks for the mention basschick. I've been doing a little custom stuff, but I'm sick to death of second guessing everything, it's taken the fun out of it. I think I'm just gonna upload everything I write, good and bad, and offer it free as public domain.
I purchased some royalty free music from ebay. They have everything you know. Some of it is a lot of the same thing so you have to go through all the threads.
We purchase royalty free dvds and we get some stuff written for us too...
But, the most fun is doing my own in Soundtrack - the great program that was introduced by Apple and was rolled into GarageBand... now part of the Studio program...
as if I don't have anything else to do but, its a lot of fun!
Check out the Titles and soundtrack I did next time you watch BareBack 90210...all original (the first 18 years of my life were spent in music!)
that would be great, if I had any musical talent at all ;-) seriously, tho, that reminded me that my editor is a musician too, maybe he can do something for me in GB... so thx!Originally Posted by A_DeAngelo
Very Cool! The great thing about Soundtrack and Garage Band is that a person doesn't really need any musical background (although it helps)...the programs are very intuitive with click and drag rifs you can choose from and mix together on a mixing board... Apple really excells at this kind of stuff, and now that the program is part of the Final Cut Pro Studio package...I suspect that there will be quite a few new "composers and mixers" cumming up through the ranks...!Originally Posted by skot
