The company my boyfriend used to work for sent us a letter yesterday saying a payroll box from 2001 containing his name, date of birth, adress, social security number and bank account was "inadvertedly" thrown in the trash and maybe, just maybe, probably, they believe incinerated. Reiterating how they're aaaalmost sure it was incinerated but not quite.

We have shared bank account numbers so now we have to both get fraud alerts on our credit reports and hope nobody found that box. But when I think about how they just now figured out a payroll box from 2001 was allegedly thrown away I have to wonder what really happened.

One of his co-workers with access to a lot of personal information, including mine, got cought stealing money not too long ago.

It kind of doesn't surprise me it happened and it does. Considering the payroll bitch sends checks to people she dislikes at the last minute or late but never on time. I wouldn't put it past someone throwing out the box on purpose!

The mind boggles
