Promoting Straight Guys to Gay Men

I know we've brought this topic up from time to time, and I even did a search and read over some older threads ... but what can you guys tell me about what the surfer wants or needs (besides the wanking part) from seeing sites that promote straight men as all of, or the majority of, the content offered? What's the attraction/angle?

Gee Bec, that's a hard one! Sorry...

As a gay man, I've never had the urge to convert or go after those forbidden fruits, if you will... however, I would imagine the natural male urge to conquer and "conquest" would come into play. You know, achieving the unatainable.

Well, the alure of forbidden fruit is one of the angles I've considered also. Mostly I'm needing some help on how to "talk" on a new site I put up over the weekend: www.juststraightcocks.com

Do I just talk like I would to gay guys as they'd be the higher % looking at it or take a different tact?

I would think that you'd want the str8 guys to be major cock teases if you really wanted to appeal to gay men. Make them out to be pretty damn straight, but always leave that one tiny little door of possibility open for "conversion." All the str8 bartenders I know rake in major tips b/cuz they know how to work their clientele. They play up the "I'm straight but not narrow" angle and drop flirty hints all the time, and the gay men eat it up.

Personally, I think it's all rather silly, but oh well... what can you do?

My feature story examining this very topic is finally being published in the June issue of AVN Online. Some people from this site are participants. I think it turned out pretty good.

most of the gay men i know don't want their straight guys to leave that door a little open. a guy who seems like he just might be available isn't making himself unattainable and he won't trigger those conquering urges.

check out some of the comments from last year about fucking straight guys - getting them to do it was a major challenge and an accomplishment. a guy who smiles and winks at you isn't going to seem like much of a challenge

Tell that to my str8 bartender friends who are rolling in GREAT tips.

You just have to know how to work it. You can't be coy or precious about it; you have to give them just enough that it gives the tiniest hint of a doubt about how straight someone really is. Just like any woman can use her flirty charms with a man, then totally pull back. Cock teasing is a time-honored tradition in our culture. You just have to be subtle about it. It can't come off as insincere, nor can you be over the top with it.

i've made my feelings on the subject known. I can't stand the whole thing and it makes me kinda ill.

We shoot almost exclusively straight men on Fratmen, and we stopped making a big deal about it ages ago. It just felt kinda smarmy.

I don't even shag straight men anymore, and I used to all the time... it got boring.. yeah, sure, it wasn't THAT hard to get a straight guy to give it up, but they were never very good at it, and they were always weird after.

ok, not sure why, but that confuses me. If your site is mostly straight guys, then what would you tell me about how to market fratmen.tv? I have to assume the site is geared to gay men and the pink dollar.

that's the beauty of it.. is that no.. it's not.

the appeal of our men isn't that they're straight.. it's that they're astoudingly hot. When the models are as hot as the guys we've got, their sexual orientation doesn't matter.

We're not a "gay" site, really. We have female members and gay members and a high number of Bi men who look at the site with their wives and girlfriends.

The reason we dont' need the gimmick of them being straight and unattainable is that people take one look at them and want them anyway.

Our members want to see hot men naked and that's what we show them. I think we've managed to trancend the whole "Straight guys" thing.

I think one of the thigns that drives my point home.. now that I think of it.. is that the highest converters that we have amongst our affilaites are the bloggers who post pictures of our guys and just go on about how hot they are.

There's no need to talk about his sexual orientation, although they often mention things like what sport he plays, how old he is, where he lives and any thing else out of the ordinary about him.

Honestly, straight guys who aren't that hot are a freaking dime a dozen on the adult internet these days. None of them will ever be Fratmen models.

If we find a model who's bisexual or gay and hot enough to be a Fratman.. well.. he's in. Why limit yourself to "Straight" men when you can limit yourself to "So hot he fell from heaven" men?

Ok, that actually makes a lot of sense ... you sure have me thinking -- "wow -- I want to see what he's talking about". Part pf me felt that the "straight men" angle was just because that's where everyone was finding the really hot looking men ... after all, there's more of them in the pond, so to speak!

Ok Bec, I need some help here…
Real Straight Men don't have "Gay Sex"...that's why they're Straight - capisco?

I know there's that old saying "..the only thing that's keeping a straight man from acting out his gay fantasy is a 6 pack of beer" - or something like that - I think it was a bottle of Chianti but don't quote me on this!

Real straight men don't have sex with other men unless they're getting paid a LOT of money and they need it bad enough.

I've seen some pretty funny out takes from the "GAY 4 PAY" sites... straight guys screaming "GET IT OUT!! FUCK!!! THAT HURTS!!! SHIT!!!" and guys putting a dick in their mouth and immediately throwing up.. on the guy they're sucking off.

I've seen guys holding straight porn magazines and looking at them so they can keep it up while fucking a guy or getting sucked.

I've seen out takes of guys saying things like "This isn't worth fucking 5 grand".

Trust me.. straight guys do make gay porn.. but they don't like it.

but thanks to editors like me, you honestly believe that they're totally into it.

Well call them whatever you like, all the gay4pay we've hired and worked with say they are straight and may use "straight visual aids" to get off but how is a straight man straight if he has "gay" sex - money or not?!?!

    it just don't make sense
