My New Cam

Just got back from the store with my new video cam. Here it is:

It is great, no more tapes. It records to a CF Microdive. It came with 4GB and that is enough for an hour of dvd quality. Going to save so much time and hassle not having to capture video anymore.

I went to a store at the computer mall here to get it, and ended up having to wait longer than I should and got into a fight with them, but I saved about 250 bucks so it was worth the hassle.

it's pretty interesting and different and i love the microdrive, but it's not HD and if anything happens to the microdrive, what does it cost to replace it? do you see particular applications for the swivel?

The microdrive that came with it is 4GB. That gets one hour of dvd quality video, equivilent to one tape. I can then put it on the laptop and on to the next film. I was looking today at an 8gb ultra 2 CF card, which fits in as well and is even faster, and it runs about 350 usd right now. I'll probably go ahead and get that soon to use as the primary and use the microdrive as a backup.
