    WTF? Should I Be Concerned?

We had a new affiliate sign up to Condom Cash a couple of days ago.. No big deal however, they have sent a heap of sales (almost as much as our current top affiliates send each day) and, not one of these sales show a referring URL again, no big deal there but...

I checked their affiliate account and, they dont list an adult url for their site and, their email address is obscured through a WHOIS search on their domain name also.

So far, they havent generated any chargebacks / cancellations through the CCBill system however, im wondering if these could be legit transactions or whether they are being done with stolen cards?

The reason i think there is something to worry about here is that for every join page hit they are sending to our sites, they are making 1 sale.

So, lets say they sent 25 join page hits yesterday for example, they also made 25 sales.

Not one of our other affiliates has had this happen, including some affiliates i know personally who are EXCEPTIONALLY good at targeting / filtering their traffic.

So what do you folks think, is this something i should be concerned about or not?

    Regards,

    Lee

of course it is! this happened to us and amazingly enough they were using stolen credit cards.

why not let ccbill fraud know about the signups? no referring urls, tons of signups, no referring urls on the joins. ouch!

Ya she is right, 1 to 1 ratio's are impossible, well when you are talking about more than just a few click, even 10 years ago. Sounds like you are on top of it, and I am sure you hold back payment to your affiliates for 3-4 weeks or so I would just watch them. If its for real please tell us where they are getting this traffic from LOL, I sent sites to about everyone, and get traffic from many sources, but never seen that even on a really good day.

I have..... But have heard absolutely nothing back about it yet

I guess the good news for me is that i have made them aware of the problem and, if it continues, it then becomes their issue and not mine.

I guarantee i wont be losing processing over this.

    Regards,

    Lee

Lee, i don't like to be another naysayer, but I share Patti's concern... for me that sort of activity would raise HUGE red flags... if it's not stolen credit cards, it might be one of those join-this-site-for-access-to-my-CP-site deals... just make sure you take care of it with enough time BEFORE the affiliate gets paid out their first check... you don't want to be stuck with the chargebacks, nor do you want to be associated with an illicit scam.

I am sure that anyone that can make a real decision is off for Easter, sure Monday or Tuesday they will get back to you, BTW one of the good things about verotel is that they have live customer service chat almost 24/7 so if you have a problem you know you can talk to them :center:

I'd be worried, and I'd be in touch with ccBill each day till its resolved clearly, documenting your calls, notes of what you said etc, just in case they do try to lay the blame off on you. I doubt they would, but an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Call them. 1 to 1 is unheard of, no one does that.

My experience is that while CCBill has some great people staffing their weekend teams, some of the more complex issues, like risk management and fraud, are handled only on a limited basis on the weekends, and many of those issues are deferred until the regular workday.

I'm certain the same is true of Verotel and Paycom; reaching someone is very different from reaching a fraud specialist.

Feel free to hit me up on ICQ or give me a call. I'll be happy to take a closer look into this situation with you.

    Thanks,

i hope that you are not talking about the icq you sent me yesterday...not sure if you would consider that "official" or not...i was playing beach volleyball and bbqing all day! youll need to pull out the batsignal for that one...

for sales that happened a few days ago, chargebacks should not 'yet' be an issue, as it normally takes a while to process them...and no cancelations makes me suspicous

i replyed to your icq a hour or 2 ago
