    Who Stole my Doggies?

Over a week ago I left my gate open and my little dogs got out. I didn't know they were gone for over an hour; I drove and walked the neighborhood for 2 hours [11 PM to 1 AM on a Saturday night]. Both dogs had collars and tags with my phone number. My closest neighbors know what the dogs look like and I told them my dogs had run off.
A week went by with no word. I had given up. That was too long for two little chihuahuas to be on their own in Phoenix--it is hot, no water, and things like cars, trucks, and coyotes that could kill them abound.
Yesterday I got a call from someone who had bought the dogs and wanted to know what food they preferred because they were not eating. My dogs had been found and sold with their collars still on! He was rather surprised when I told him I had been looking for them! I paid the guy the $100 he had paid for them.
So, some mutherfucker found my dogs on the street, and instead of calling me decided he could get more for them by selling them.
I hate thieves. At least I have my little doggies back.

My guess -- the guy that "bought" them.

Anyhoo -- glad your doggies are back.

That totally sucks. I hate people who do that. Kind of think that the guy who supposedly bought em is the one who uh, found them. Though from some stories I have heard, i'd check to make sure it was that you left the gate open.

That's one thing the wife and I are planning on this summer, getting us another dog. Have a line on a breeder that might have what we want, as we miss not having our four legged friend.

Least you got them back Chad.. now make sure to give them a nice treat. :king:

That was really nice that you paid the guy what he paid, did the guy you got the dogs from tell you who sold them to him? I also don’t get why they would not eat? I have never really owned a dog, but I would think they would eat about anything you offer them. You might want to think about those implant dog tags the next guy that takes them probably will not be so stupid and not to remove the tags :goofy:

Dogs can be emotional and well loved and cared for dogs are like any human that is suddenly thrown into a strange environment. I know when I moved from my place on the lake and gave my neighbours my Sheppards, I had to keep going back to feed them with the guy for several weeks before they'd eat from just him.

That’s weird and sad at the same time  I think that is why I have never gotten a dog, I really could not take care of it like it would need. I only have fish, and I am even kind of bad at taking care of them.

Yeah, it was me. I put the dogs in the house and locked their doggie door so I could unload my truck into the back yard. [I bought a metal tool shed]

After unloading, I went into the house and unlocked the doggie door. It was definitely my fault, which made me feel rather guilty.

I dont think it was the guy that stole them that called me, but I think he got them from a friend or family member. Their little girl started bawling when they gave the dogs to me and I had no regrets. Kids need dogs, but not stolen dogs.

Thank you all for the well wishes. I was pretty down losing them--especially not knowing what happened or where they were.

It would break my heart if my two went missing. I had them chipped last week (they are 10 and 13 weeks old) because I was told pugs are stolen a lot over here because they are still rare over here.

I am glad you got yours back!

So glad to hear that you got them back CHad. As you know, I have 4 dogs and 4 cats and would go even crazier if one of them went amiss.

I am happy your loved ones have been 'returned', Chad.
I know what it is like to lose a dear friend, and it is the type of feeling I rarely wish upon a person.

Oh heck, that just means you have 4 expendable cats ;-)

That's so scary. Our dog gets our of the backyard and the house sometimes(he can unlock and pull doors open) and roams the neighborhood. He usually comes back in a few hours though. I couldn't imagine being gone a week.
