Bijou World Launches Bijou Buck$ BETA Affiliate Program
Chicago, IL – April 21, 2006 — Bijou World, the parent company of the popular gay adult film, magazine, photograph, and book distribution sites BijouWorld.com, ClassicAdultMagazines.com, ClassicGayPhotographs.com, and KinkyBooks.com, has launched their first affiliate program, BijouBucks.com, in a preliminary Beta offering.
Bijou World has been in business since 1969 starting with their brick and mortar property, Bijou Theater in Chicago. Through the years, Bijou World became the Gay Porn, Sexuality, and Erotica Experts by publishing one of the primary gay adult entertainment references, the Bijou Catalog up through 1995. In the mid-nineties, Bijou World expanded its services to an online catalog.
The program offers 15 percent revshare for all completed sales of DVD and Videos. While the program is in Beta status, Bijou World is accepting applications from affiliates that would like a custom approach to their affiliation. Regarding the Beta Program, Ken Ballard, Bijou World Chief Editor, comments, “We see the Beta Program as an opportunity for Affiliates to receive very personal service. Our team will be available to our affiliates for one-on-one business building guidance. Support from our company, which has been in the adult industry for over 37 years, can prove invaluable for the right affiliates.”
Although this is a time of online adult entertainment, DVD sales are continuing to increase as a more portable media. This offering is very complementary to webmasters that already offer online content but would like to capture additional revenue from sales of offline media.
In the 37 years the company has been in business, it has fought for integrity and political standing in the gay adult industry. Steven Toushin, president of Bijou World, believes that this integrity goes beyond the industry and reflects, “Gay sexuality is important, and we always have respected gay adult material and pornography. Sexual history, which is documented by pornography, is very important for the gay community to find their place in the world.”
Bijou World distributes over 11,000 gay titles and is home to many films from the studios of Old Reliable (by director David Hurles), Hand in Hand (including the masterpiece Centurians of Rome), Brentwood Classics, Toby Ross (including Sexy Billy Blue, winner of Advocate Men’s Best of 1989 award), Steve Scott (who directed Screenplay, winner of 1984’s Best Gay Film from the Gay Critics Association), and J. Brian (including the pre-condom classic Seven in a Barn).
