Hardcore or softcore on the tour?

I'm making a tour and I dont know if I should do all softcore on the tour, with just naked guys, or show the hardcore sex?
Or show the hardcore and just put a big star over the actual penetration part, for a tease without giving it all away.

Which sells better on a tour?

You do realize by 'gay' I mean a man who has sex with other men?

Whatever you do, DONT put stars over any part of the models on your tours... That really kills sales!

what are you selling? if its a site dedicated to soft core porn or solo guys then softcore is fine. But if you are trying to sell a hardcore site then at least give your surfers a bit of hardcore as a teaser. I mean a few pics on the tour will not get your surfer off, it will just give them an idea of what to expect inside.

    cheers,
    Luke

Definitely toss in a representative sample of hardcore content if you're comfortable with it. Soft core is fine if you're afraid of the porn police, but it won't sell as well.

:yeah: Not showing hardcore will really hurt sales if you have it available. I think it really kills sales for those webmasters trying to use Badpuppy for their sites as they can't even show a butt crack in their tours.

Hardcore is OK, but just make sure you have a splash page that requires the surfer to at least click "yeah I am 18" first for CYA reasons. As a business decision, don't have enough hardcore to jerk off to. If there is enough there to jack off, then there is no reason to buy the membership. Selling porn is just like pretzels at the mall--give out a tiny free sample to make them hungry enough to buy the whole pretzel.

PS: There is a reason that Basschick and Bec have so many posts, and it is not because they post "yeah, thats cool" on every thread. They post real information and advice, and they have been doing it a long time. They know what they are doing and they are willing to freely share their experiences. You don't have to be a gay man to know the gay market, and those two prove it.

By splash page, do you mean warning page?

I bought the Lawrence Walters one where you have to sign your name and use the dropdowns to get in. I figure If I ever got hauled into court for whatever reason, at least I could show that I made a solid effort to put up a good barrier to my site by using a system by a 1st amendment atty.

Go check out the entrance to www dot budwieser dot com. You will see an entrance page that is surprisingly similar--and that predates the "patented" or "trademarked" or "copyrighted" one you paid for.

I tried putting in a date of birth of a 14 year old at budweiser to see what it would do. It not only redirected me to busch gardens but now if I try access that site I get re-directed to busch gardens. Not only did it not let me in, the damn thing remembered my IP address. I think if I cleared my cookies that might change, but it seems to be a good system for the purpose it serves.

Swearing up and down under the threat of federal perjury or even on every dead relatives grave is not "age verification" and I will give $100 to anyone that can find a federal prosecutor that will criminally charge a minor for lying about his age on that system. Could you imagine being 17, walking into a bar, and being asked to sign a document that swears you are legal age to get a drink instead of showing a valid ID? Of course not. That is not age verification, that is just lying, something that any minor can do on the internet fairly anonymously. And lying "under oath" when there is no witness will not be something a US Attorney will believe is a crime worth prosecuting.

When I was prosecuting, I presented a case where a 17 year old had a gun in his vehicle at school, but the US Attorney's office declined to prosecute due to caseload--they had a threshold of "badness" that bringing a gun to school did not cross.[if he had 5 pounds or more of marijuana as well as the firearm they would have considered it] I turned it over to the State Attorney General to file state charges against him since he was the sheriff's son, and that was a political hot potato. I thought it was best handled by the AG who would be impartial, since if I let the kid off easy it would have looked like favoritism and pissed off my constituents but if I prosecuted him I would have pissed off the sheriff who I needed on my side as a law enforcement officer.

Right now, there is no recognized method other than the credit card that really verifies age, and even that is shaky. A lot of under-18 year olds have debit cards now.

Extreme Associates only put its hardcore in its members area. They are fighting a lot of issues, but the fact that a surfer needed to enter a credit card before accessing their hardcore is a benefit in that case--they are not being prosecuted for distributing obscenity to minors, just obscenity.
