    Kodak Patents Age Verification Camera
    By Michael Hayes
    Monday, May 1, 2006

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Camera maker Eastman Kodak may soon make an unintended contribution to the seemingly endless 2257 litigation with a camera that can identify the age of the person in the picture.

Scientists for the company have been working for years on technology to automatically correct “red-eye” in digital images. But sometimes work in one area leads to an unexpected discovery elsewhere.

In patent papers filed by the company, researchers suggest that it is possible to make a camera that can discern the subject’s age.

While the technology is still largely experimental, the company believes that applications could be designed to help in age verification. However, there is no word yet on how accurate the technology will be, if and when it is released in the market.

Still, the idea that technology could accurately and automatically identify a model’s age, even if that innovation is years down the road, could have huge repercussions for the adult industry, because technology rather than record-keeping could be used to insure that all performers are adults.

The camera works by focusing on the pupil’s reaction to light. According to Kodak researchers, there is a correlation between age and pupil reaction.

In other words, young pupils react differently to light than old pupils.

leave it to science...could be great but then again, if I were to step in front of this camera for instance, you know, for age verification when I'm in a scene again...it could reveal that I'm as old as the pyramids! not good for aging porn stars (if the word got out, and it alwas seems to somehow)

I think that I prefer that newish "slimming camera"

I think it is all BS it might help with picking out guys that are 13-14 but it will not work to tell the difference between a guy that is 17-18. It will not stand up in court too, I am not a fan of CP but I see to many people go over the deep end on this issue, and by buying into the BS they are allowing the “authorities” too further their real goal that really has more to do with making it harder for us to make it than it does about any CP. :plod:

Oh no, women and gay men the world over will be outraged!!!

Besides, do you really think that a retnal scan will be able to tell a model who's just turned 18. It might piss off the guys who like to shoot the twinks that are just legal. The ID says 18 but the scan still registers "chicken".

BTW LOL I can see if they do use this type of system, a lot more pics with guys with their eyes closed, and instead of those crappy pics of guys with their privies fuzzed out they will just have to PhotoShop the eyes. Hell I do that sometimes now, if I want a guy with nicer eyes, I will take another’s guys eyes and add it or just change the color. Their is always those contacts that change the color of the eyes too I am sure this thing would have problems with that too, I could name a almost endless stream of ways to get around this BS

Right on the money. People mature at different rates. My former business partner was 24 but most everyone thought he was 17-18. He didn't start puberty until 15-16. So I'm sure the "eye camera" would have misjudged him.

... and if you, or the model in front of the camera, are under the influence (greensheetstothewind)?
