What kind of computer do you have?

I am having a geek moment so please excuse me. After many years of waiting I am finally getting my gaming computer. It should arrive week after next.

    Alienware Aurora 7500 Customized
AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ with HyerTransport And Due Core Technology
Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition with Service Pack 2
Alienware Acustic Dampening with AlienIce 2.0 Video Cooling
Alienware NVidia nForce 4 SLI x16 Motherboard
Dual 256 PCI-Express x16 NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GT SLI Enabled
1 GB Dual Channel Low-Latency DDR PC-3200 at 400 Mhz
    160 GB Serial ATA 3Gb/s 7,200 RPM w/NCQ & 8MB Technology
    16x DVD/52x36x52x CD-RW
    16x Dual DVD+R/W Drive w/LightScribe Technology
    Samsung SyncMaster 940BF 19" LCD

All of this made me wonder what type of computer you guys are running? From the content providers to the server guys I'm curious as to what brand or configuration you deal with?

Right now we have 3 desktops with this configuration:

    3800+ AMD 64x2 processors
    2G RAM
    1G HD

No clue about anything else on them.

We also have 4 laptops running a similar (but not as powerful) setup which are what we use on a daily basis, the desktops are just for encoding, uploading and all that other fun stuff.

    Regards,

    Lee

I didn't get the liquid cooling. AlienIce is an airflow cooling system. But yes, I'm very happy. To buy I had to take out a loan. But as I have no credit this small loan will help me start establishing some. My dad had to co-sign with me to get the loan.

    Sana,

I am so jealous, a friend turned me on to Alienware a month or so ago and it is all I can think of. They have the hottest little laptop that I have put on my list of MUST HAVE things. Pricey but top of the line from what I hear.

Good luck with your new set up, be sure to post pics when you get it and let us know how it is working out for you.

I have two HPs, one's a Pentium 4, the other's an Athlon dual core. And I have a Toshiba laptop as well. As soon as I have time I'm getting rid of one of the HPs, it's been acting up for a year or so.

Alienware is boss but have you seen VooDoo computers? Those are pretty serious too. www.voodoopc.com (if I can post their site, if not sorry!)

But as of right now I'm glad I'm getting a new one because I just bought Black and White 2 and it won't run on my now old computer. My graphics card is too old and doesn't have the technology to play it. Damn pixel shadower.

We're on Mac, always have been and always will be...

As far as specs go, well, I'm not so sure our insurance carrier would like us to divulge all of those specifics...

That's why we keep the "killier dog" in the "compound"...
