Cam likes to go out and buy the Sunday Times. This morning, he returned to tell me that the LA Times Newspaper vending stand plays the theme from Mission Impossible when you open up the lid to take your paper!
First, there were pre-recorded, looped messages at Dulles airport in the 60's…then, the 70's brought loops such as "The white zone is for immediate loading and unloading of passengers…." at most major airports across the country. Later came talking cars, "Your door is a jar…" and, more recently, talking elevators, talking greeting cards…
Now, we've got soundtracks while we pick up the daily?
I asked Cam how many quarters he had to feed the machine to listen to the entire sound track to the opening titles…
What's next, talking dildos? "ooh baby"...
