Free sites not getting listed

Our new designer has been hard at working creating free sites and submitting them to link lists. We've been listed on many of them but a few of the big ones haven not listed any of our sites. You can check out one example here.

The lists that have not posted us include Hunkhunter, SMAQ, Gay on the Net and Sindbad. I've checked and we seem to be following the rules. Any ideas or suggestions?

Some times it take awhile to get listed, I do not know how long it has been. But I will say its a really great site for the content you have in it. Allot of people rag on twink stuff, but 99% people will list it, and I would say it might be harder to get to many sites like that listed cuzz of the content. Hell that’s just what I think so, I would not take it a gospel or anything. :jasun:

email those places personally and ask directly
not being listed can be because of content or design or some rule you missed, could be many things

I would email them too if its been awhile...

That said I do have a couple of ideas...

1. Its been awhile since I've submitted any sites to those ll's but I think I recall that it takes awhile before smaq lists ya. I don't remember the times for them or the others that you listed.

2. The 4 sites that you listed actually appear on this page: http://www.bearbucks.com/freesites/a...ain/index.html and not on the page that you use as the example link. That in my mind is probably the source of the problem right there.

You'll find that most ll would prefer/want to be on this page instead: http://www.bearbucks.com/freesites/a...nia/index.html
Unless of course this page:
http://www.bearbucks.com/freesites/a...ain/index.html is the page that was submitted to smaq, sinbad, hunkhunter and Gay on the Net.

Anyway, just a couple thots on the possibilities..

i've always found it to be so.

that being said, i don't generally submit 30 - 40 pic "feeder" free sites. i generally submit premium avs sites, so the sales i make are direct.

It might be because you're using sponsor supplied content.

After three or four times, they've seen it all and dont' include them because they're sick and tired of seeing it.

There's also a few too many links to other free sites. They generally just want three or four links.:jasun:

Your site looks fine to me. cant see anything wrong with it, but i got to agree link sites / directories wont like it to be on the 2nd page when you got others on the first page.

I update gaydemon every day or every second day, havent seen your submission yet though. I think.. But you would be listed on gaydemon the same or next day if and when you do submit.

I must say that your gallery site is a lot nicer than most other i see everyday, so really cant see anything wrong. In fact i wish more sites were like yours!

In all honesty I do understand why so many are not as nice as his, in fact I think I spend to much time creating my free sites, but I am not going to change that. Free sites only really provide good traffic for like 2 weeks then they all about die. Its not really worth doing way to much on them for the shot lives they have, I would really be more than happy to create really big and good free sites, but I would spend more time creating them than its worth doing.

hey, Top Cat - please let us know how it does. it's a lot purtier than other free sites, and while general knowledge says that's a bad thing, maybe surfers sometimes appreciate eye candy.

btw, Top Cat - if gaydemon didn't get a submission, maybe no one else did, either. it's possible your designer either simply didn't submit it or doesn't know HOW to submit it. i find it's best to have the designer design and someone else submit - usually me, so i KNOW it gets done, but otherwise someone who knows their way around submissions.

Thanks for all the great feedback. basically our designer created a spreadsheet of requirements of each list so we can comply with them. Some require their recip on the landing page, some the main page, some don't mind what page, and some leave a recip optional. Our goal of course is to meet all those requirements and maximize our exposure.

Not sure why you guys at Gay Demon haven't gotten our site submissions (we've made a few) so let me chat with our designer. Thanks for the nice compliments too!

Like everyone, we like to keep our number close to the vest but I'll tell you our freesites have been converting at 1:195.

A few months ago Sindbad deleted a lot of my pages for no reason. I'm tired of trying to come up with site names that start with "Aa" to get a good position, so I've considered just paying to advertise there. Does anyone know how to contact them directly?

Hunkhunter has gotten too restrictive, I don't even bother with them anymore.

SMAQ is Badpuppy. You could probably call them on the phone to get the scoop.
