DRM has been cracked
THANKS LEE for a wonderful forum. I don't write much. But I read at least twice a day, every day. I have learned alot. THANKS. Spank me for not posting enough.
I recently won a contest last month and I am fully thankful.
I personally have no need for the 2 DVDs awarded from Topbucks and hope that Topbucks and LEE use it instead for a future contest.
Contests are quite fun... thanks Lee.
Now to the meat of this message. It has come to my attention that DRM has been cracked.
I think this is really important information and could affect many here at GWW.
This email was forwarded to me...
Best I just let the payvideo sites know of problem. PaySiteOwners - send me a PM for more info.
Small Snapshot of directions, QUITE SERIOUS:
1. If you have WMP10, rollback to WMP9 by running
"C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\Setup_wm.exe" /Uninstall
After the restart, check that your version of WM is 9.
2. Download the Japanese DRM files

On the other hand.... You have different fingers
Windows Media DRM was cracked years ago. There have been numerous different cracks out there for quite some time.
Unfortunately, it's virtually impossible to make an uncrackable anything. There are bazillions of incredibly talented people with nothing better to do than sit and figure out cracks... kind of like a challenge game...
The good news is, most of the public doesn't know how to use the cracks, they tend to go out of date pretty quickly, and so, for the most part, DRM does provide some benefit. Of course, it also screws stuff up for people too... it's a consideration that everyone has to evaluate individually depending on their particular revenue models.

I am straight, but my ass is gay
windows DRM was cracked, last year around February I think, then I read it was patched and since then I personally haven't read anything about it being cracked again.
That isn't so bad actually, in general everything that ends up online does so thru ways other than people sharing media they paid for. There was a study not long ago that talked about this.
So I think people generally don't put up their purchased porn somewhere for people to download, unless those people stole the site password and leached everyting or signed up with a stolen credit card. IMO
