Flynt empire jumping into gay porn

I guess this means that the gay market is moving farther into the mainstream. I think that the appetite for gay porn is insatiable as the number of plugged in consumers, particularly those with high-speed connections, continues to grow and most of the porn available is poorly done and just crappy. Having good quality stuff come on the market is not going to threaten anyone that puts out quality material--even with another 6 good movies coming out there will still not be enough good quality gay porn to meet the demand.
One very positive note--in my opinion, having a well-known straight company like Flynt getting into gay porn will demonstrate to other straight companies, namely online straight companies, that there is a gay market. Straight online companies have gay traffic that is currently going to waste. There is no reason not to approach straight sites and offer them an outlet for their gay traffic!


Flynt Video Films First Gay Feature

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. - After months of speculation, it's official: Larry Flynt's LFP Video Group has filmed its first gay XXX feature. The movie is the first of a gay line that will be released on the revived HIS Video label, the gay brand of VCA Pictures, which Flynt now owns.

The movie, Devil Inside, stars Antonio Madiera and was written and directed by GAYVN Hall of Fame director Jim Steel. Steel has signed on for the first six titles of LFP Video's new gay video division, will oversee production on all these titles, and direct at least three of them.

Steel told GAYVN that Devil will have a different, slicker look and exciting editing style than most gay XXX movies. And "the sex scene between Antonio and Park Wiley is the most intense, hottest fuck scene I've shot in my entire career," he said. "Even the crew… these are people who work thirty days a month, and their jaws dropped!"

LFP Video Group Creative Director Drew Rosenfeld said the second movie, tentatively titled All Hands on Dick, would be shot on a 100-foot yacht in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. "We're putting money into production values, locations, and fresh talent," he said.

Devil Inside also stars Brad Benton, Ben Campezi, Marcos Pirelli, Mark Slade, Jason Crew, and Jean Val Jean. It will be released in September.

If you ask me Disney has already been doing soft core CP for years, would not really be that shocked if they took it farther. Disney in famous for having 16 year old guys run around ½ nude in their movies, and I know allot of adult sites that have their exit buttons linked to them as well. :goof:

Now, if some of these companies really WOULD put some money into the script and the sets and locations and all that, I would REALLY be impressed. The straight side of the industry has been making high-concept porn flicks for quite a while, and raking in the bucks doing it. Sadly, there aren't that many gay companies who are really making big-budget story-driven films. There are a lot of companies who claim they do, but frankly, a lot of what passes for "story" in gay porn is pretty bad. Three lines of dialogue and the hint of a plot is NOT story. I would really like to see a company really step up to the plate and DELIVER high-quality porn that does not treat its audience like idiots. There are some exceptions (Joe Gage, Thor Stephans, Jett Blakk, etc.), but by and large, I find most pornographers to be lazy filmmakers who don't understand the art of scenario and seduction.

I still think there is a way to do an awesome story that gay audiences would connect to as much as they get into the action itself. You have to find that balance. Hopefully, HIS Video will get that, and try to do something truly unique.

Im suprised it took them all this long to jump on the gay porn bandwagon, the str8 side of the industry has been slowly declining sales wise for years, im expecting within 24 months we'll start seeing the same thing happen with gay porn also now.

I think Brokeback changed things and gave the ok for straight companies to pursue Gay interests.

Can we see the stats you're referring to in the decline of straight porn sales?

It makes sense that a conservative government can affect porn sales for the last five years but I'm currious to see the actual numbers you have.

The implication was that finally someone was bringing high quality production values to the gay market. Hello? Anyone seen a Titan video recently? Or any number of other releases from gay owned porn houses?

Perhaps I was reading something into the news release that wasn't intended, but I got the impression that all the work we've done thus far to raise the bar in the gay marketplace would finally be lifted even higher by our colleagues in the straight world. Yeah, right!

I look at all that stuff as just marketing fluff. Everything is "the best", "the cutest", "the biggest" and so this is just more hyperbole.

I just hope he's got gay people producing the content, or at least consulting.

The Flynt deal with gay porn has been coming for some time, now. As I hear it, Pulse was born from a failed attempt at Larry Flynt delving into gay porn.

If I were a betting man, I would guess PlayBoy. Heff has been known to show gay porn at the mansion on occasion. Maybe he is doing his homework?
