Do You Use Sub Domains? If So..

How well do you find them working?

Have you found that a site on http://www.domain.com works better than a site on http://www.domain.com/niche/ http://niche.domain.com? or vice versa?

What about going down even further with sub domains and using two or three levels such as http://mainniche.subniche.domain.com

Just curious more than anything as i have noticed a small drop in the SE's of sites listed using sub domains.

    Regards,

    Lee

    i used to, kinda
but after i had some major problems a few times with them resolving selectively i stopped doing it. too much trouble trying to figure out why subdomain A is resolving differently than subdomain B on the same domain.

subdomains were kicking butt on google about 6-12 months ago, but that is no longer the case. Right now the best reason I can think of for subdomaining is so you can easily split your domain load onto a second server.

    cheers!

I don't use them - it's easier for me to just use good subfolder techniques... or bug Luke into adding a new domain for me :groovy:
