Im filming some non nude scenes soon, I'm scared to death, lol

I just put some ads out there for filming men non nude and how much im willing to pay and checked and got like 6 replies.
    Im totally scared now,

I put in the ad that I need to film guys in their own houses because I dont have my own studio, and 5 out of 6 guys said thats fine.

is there anything I should be aware of?
Im learning as im going here, I guess just bring extra lighting, and bring a model release and take a ipic of the license, right?

since its non nude I dont have to worry about much more, right? I may as well be filming for a sears swimsuit catalog.

btw I answered with a fake name, is that cool or dumb?
    IM so green to this

Not my thing, but uh, I'd sure as hell not go alone and not with a 98lb weakling either. I'd also cover my ass and get all the details as if it was hardcore fucking, just in case Uncle George gets nervous about guys in speedos... just my thought though. :coffee:

I have one thing to say -

filming them in their own house is dumb.

I've done lost of crazy things in other peoples houses that I met online like 10 min earlier for extended periods of time. Use your imagination. But taking my camera and lights to their house is something I have never done.

If I were you I would "meet" them first.

    Just my thoughts.

BassChick maybe the best person to ask about the 2257 stuff. She's doing lost of non nude. I don't think you have to worry that much if its non nude.

Honestly, I would not feel comfortable going into a model's house to film content. We've done it three times in 280+ scenes, and in two of the three cases, we knew, at least in passing, the people we were working with. In the third case, I had talked to the guy on the phone and via email for like 3 weeks before we met, so it felt comfortable.

Waaaaay too many things could go wrong in my book.

As for 2257, if there is no sexually explicit conduct, you're exempt. In other words, not needed at all. However, you will need a model release in any case to protect you from the model later claiming you don't have permission, but that has nothing to do with 2257. If it were me, I'd get an image of a drivers license just to have it on file, but no need for it as far as 2257.

i would never NEVER shoot a model in his own home for soooo many reasons.

    1. i'd miss out on the best models since a smarter person is security conscious. the guys who let you shoot them at him are the kind of guys i'd rather not shoot.

    2. if one of your models gets robbed after you shoot him - say within 3 months - you'd be the obvious person to consider as a suspect.

    3. if something happens to one of your models, you'd be an obvious suspect - and a guy who would let a stranger into his house seems like a person more likely to have something happen TO.

    4. you could be robbed or held at gunpoint. you don't know these people - why put yourself in a position to get hurt?

    5. you could find yourself the victim of a hate group and end up beaten or worse. inside a private dwelling with duct tape over your mouth, you would be a perfect victim of a psycho or worse.

    6. the average apartment doesn't have the quality of electrical wiring to allow you to set up your lights. a bigger place will require at least 2500 watts.

    7. some people are messy or have shiny walls. bad for photography.

    8. you cannot control distractions in other people's houses so you may find your models distracted by ringing phones, neighbors coming over, a baby you didn't know was sleeping in the back room and lots of things i haven't even thought of.

i know people every one of these things has hppened to in different circumstances. and i'm sure there are things i'm not thinking of. why do you have to shoot them inside their residences?

I suggest finding a studio to rent by the hour. Most will have lights, etc. to help you get the best photos possible.

Also, models will respect you as photographer more if the model shows up at a professional studio to get some photos taken.

Having a photographer, amateur or not, show up for some "at home" photos sounds suspicous and not professional (unless you have already established a working relationship)

At least, in a studio setting, everyone knows why everyone is there...?!?!?

Documentation is always essential, nudes/non nudes aside, you don't want to take "swim suit" shots of someone under 18yo...not a good idea in this day and age...

yeah youre all right. I just deleted my ad.
I never felt comfortable with the whole thing anyways.

I just thought that shooting in other peoples houses would give me a variety of different backgrounds on the shoots, making them more interesting. Kind of like Paul Morris movies.

But doing that could put me in some harrowing situations.
    thanks all

I didn't mean to scare you...a lot of studios have already set up "sets" that you can pop your models into...kinda fun!

My first job out of high school was at a phone sex company as an audio tech. At one point my boss wanted me to put up fliers and ads at colleges all over town. I didn't want to use my real name so I came up with some fake name. But when the people called me I kept forgetting what my fake name was and I would go "who? there's nobody here by that name". LOL! That's why I always just use my name, I can't keep track of fake ones. LOL!

To add insult to injury the name I had used (which I honestly can't even remember now) was the name of a well known porn producer at that time and I didn't even realize it. Heh heh.

I have never done my own content but there is no way in hell I would go to their house unless you knew them pretty well first. Why not just go to a hotel?

all good answers here! , primarily though it's a safety issue , especially when working alone , you never know how many people may be in the home waiting to film you.
in regards to studio's and backgrounds you can check with other content producer's/photographers here for different locations , some maybe in your own area.
i also would not suggest working alone with a model in a studio either ( he said , she said ) always have someone alongside , even if their making coffee / holding the light / etc.

sincerely ~ "gaybashing.com" , watch us film these unsuspecting f*ggots! as we trick them into comming into our home.

if you're looking for variety, work in different hotels. shoot one guy talking in the bathroom and another in the living room and yet another stretched out on the bed.

rent different studios - and try rehearsal studios as well. and remember, if you use different backgrounds no one will know it's the same room.

or larger studios have a bunch of rooms set up, like tony said. there's a place near me like that. 6 rooms, each with no wall on one side.
