JustUsBoys - copyright Infrigement?

Just today I was browsing justusboys discussion boards, and i've noticed each user can upload so called "personal" photos and share with other JustUsBoys members (over 70,000 so far)... and I've noticed these guys have like 100's and 100's of pictures taken from all possible gay sites... from Men CyberClub, boyfun, belami, ounique, titan, falcon etc. etc..... literally there are tens of thousands of copyrighted images available for free for JustUsBoys forum members.


And all these "personal" albums pics are hosted on JustUsBoys site, not on the outside... so I'm wondering.... isn't that a bit odd?

Why would you join a page, when you can just post on their forum, "does anyone have this and this model pics and videos?" and you get reply to rapidshare files and to their JustUsBoys hosted albums.

I've heard of so many copyright infrigements like cover boxes people used (bijouworld?) and it got out of the hand, but here you have 10000's of pix and nobody actually cares?

Why the hell?

And I'm not sure that owners of JUB are not aware of that.

If had a dollar for everytime one of my members emailed us saying a user on myspace has our pics up and is impersonating them... well i could almost retire.

JUB is a traffic hub. The forums help the stickiness of the site. Then they send those potential buys to their sponsors and advertisers. Its a catch 22. Site operators want the surfers from JUB, but without the stickiness of the site it wouldn't be as much. So its hard to complain about the very thing that keep surfers at JUB which in return keeps surfers coming to us.

If you're concerned about your images on JUB just email them.... they're great guys and will tend to it right away.

Pierre and Mark pointed us to this thread. I appreciate your concerns and take them very seriously. We do have a homepage system similar to Myspace and .Mac where users can blog and upload photos. We are very clear in our code of conduct that they are not to post (c) images as well as a reminder on the photo upload page. We don't monitor the user area, but every page of the user's personal webspace has a link at the bottom regarding the method for reporting abuse and submitting take down notices. This year, we have only received 3 notices of infringement, so the problem may not be as grand as you initialy thought. Just to be safe we are spot checking random users and have disabled the entire gallery system until we come to a conclusion.

Joe, thanks for your comments. As you know we have a pretty elaborate working relationship with almost every studio in the industry including PrideBucks. Joe and his crew are signed up as contributors in our community where they submit photos and let our users know about the latest updates for their sites. It is sanctioned spam and the members love hearing from the studios. Fratmen, Randyblue, CitiBoyz and many others participate in our forum contributor program and we are always looking for others to get involved.

A couple of months ago we also opened our eye candy system where photos provided by dozens upon dozens of studios from the likes of Bel Ami, Chaos Men, Corbin Fisher, Sean Cody, Badpuppy, and about 100 more are integrated into our site and linked to the studio where our traffic can buy memberships. Our eye candy section sends several dozen signups a day to studios, if you'd like a review and eye candy to be shared from your own site, let us know and we can get you setup.

I've seen you've taken down all user albums on JUB forums and are reviewing each before they are activated, which I think is a very well done move!

I didn't mean to attack JUB, but so many thousands of free pics that other affiliates are promoting were being saturated on your members albums...

Just a comment from one of the users on JUB after this has happened:

"This is not intended to be negative or sarcastic but this looks like the end of 99% of JUB photo sharing. Meaning that the only pics most members will be able to post will be their own personal photos. And the rest will be from JUB "contributers" who want you to join (pay) their websites.

That's my opinion. I hope I'm wrong."


It just goes to show how inappropriate this service was in terms of saturation of images and accessibility for porn seekers.

I'm not sure you got the point, it's not like there were 10 pics on these member albums, there were members that had even 10,000 pics in their albums and they were not "personal"....

JUB does indeed sends visitors to advertisers, but not from members albums, but from their own "mini tgp" called Eye Candy, which is a huge difference!

I am a hardworking submitter and I must say I was very irritated when I saw on JUB "personal" albums completely the same picked pics I advertise on TGP`s.
Well, I know that is impossible to prevent that but it was really annoying when I discovered one of JUB visitors specialised just on my galleries and models and made a "personal" album.. AAAAAAAAAA! That`s really not fair.

If JUB have so called "personal albums" it would be very appropriate that those albums really have personal photos....
