I know this is offensive to a ton of webmaster who deal with twinks, but I need to blow off steam.

If I see one more twink site Im going to pull my hair out. I think like 95% of the submissions I get are twinks and I Hate them.
Every description is "twink getting fucked by a hunk", "Stud and twink make sex" "twink licks twinks sweet ass"
and thats because I banned the words boys, teen, and young years ago.
So I have to re-write these stupid descriptions for every submission and try to make them sound more exciting.

All the sites look the same to me, I cant remember any of the names, theyre all called "_________ Boys" (enter adjective there). These things still sell?

I think a lot has to do with the age of the webmaster. Many webmasters are still attracted to twinks and they think that's where the money is.

Just as there is something disconcerting about the fawning over pre-pubescent looking girls in a series like, say, Barely Legal, there is also something a little disturbing about our industry's penchant for promoting twink content as something erotic. We all know that young-looking guys can be hot, but some of the models that I'm seeing out there look dangerously young, and regardless of whether they are 18 or not, I can't help but think that this is somehow damaging to our community--most especially to young gay guys who see getting into adult as a viable option.

I'm a major advocate of bumping the age for porn modeling up to at least 25. I know this will never happen, but I just think that a lot of these guys don't understand what they are getting themselves into, and the fact that they are being objectified and marketed solely on the basis of their sexuality has got to be damaging to their overall understanding of said sexuality. If you're having sex for money as early as 18 or 19, and it becomes a "career" for you, how "special" is sex going to be in your private life? And how are you going to view sex as you get older? As a commodity?

As much as I love porn, there are lots of areas of the industry that I am very uncomfortable with. This is one of them. No offense to those who work in this niche. I know it's "business," but well, I guess that's my problem with it. It's just "business." Should we be teaching young gay guys that sex is just business?

If I am NOT mistaken, the legal age in Germany is 16 to pose naked. So a lot of those sites that use Euro models scare me.

It'a an issue that I have with Asian as well (even though I market extensively).

I took down a lot of twink sites and links to twink sites a year or so ago. Even though they do sell, there are other things that sell better.

Plus, as I have "matured=gotten older" my tastes have changed and for some reason I always do better marketing something I have a passion for. Barebacking twinks is not one of them.

And this whole Justin thing and the Cobra brat just add bad vibes if you ask me. It will be idiots like these that force visa to ban the words twinks.

And as a Link List owner it even bothers me to link to those "feeder" sites, even though I know the content on the feeder site is of a model over 18. Who knows I may be liable for linking to CP if push comes to shove, since the banner in itself may be CP.

Well, to be fair, the attitude toward sex in the Netherlands and throughout Europe is much more healthy than here in America, where sex is taught to be something evil and sinful and dirty. I think because of America's backwards-ass attitude toward sex and sexuality, being part of the porn business at a young age can be pretty fucking damaging to one's psyche. I think there's a much freer vibe regarding sexuality over there. Can't be certain, but I would think that the kids in Europe are a bit more open to sex, and maybe it's not such a bad thing over there -- unless, however, they ARE being taken advantage of, in which case it could do the very thing I talked of earlier.

But yeah, what's with this whole boy fetish? Isn't it just a bit creepy? I so don't want to put anyone on the spot, but personally, I would have a very hard time promoting any site that skewed disturbingly young. I just wouldn't feel right knowing that I was helping to perpetuate something that I felt so uncomfortable with. Even for the revenue returns.

Ken touched on an issue that I consider really important... the issue of the model being pulled into an unhealthy view of sex as a result of doing adult work.

I've found that a lot of it has to do with the individual model's interest/reasons in doing porn, and their attitude about it. A lot of our models seem (surprisingly) really healthy in their body image and psychological selves... these are the ones who are doing it because they enjoy it, are proud of their bodies, and genuinely like it when other people enjoy them.

Contrast that to the narcissistic kids who are totally obsessed with their bodies, their hair, using 500 facial creams and 27 hair products (we have a few of those guys as well). When I talk to a kid that seems massively insecure, or is doing it just for the money, those are the ones I usually discourage, because I know they'll be unhappy later on.

We've been very lucky that the guys we've worked with, with maybe one or two exceptions out of 150+ models, are very proud of their work and even years later stay in touch with us. But perhaps that's because we don't pressure or arm-twist them, treat them really well, and genuinely want them to have fun and feel completely comfortable and safe. I think a lot more of the problem with shooting twinks has to do with producers who manipulate or take advantage of the models than any inherent unhealthiness or inability to make the decision in the first place.

They most definitely still sell. That there are so many producers out there doing well with twink content is all the proof needed of that.

I agree with you 100%. The original poster of this runs a tgp and gets many submissions. I run a link list and get many twink sites submitted.

I myself have always been labeled twinkish. Just the other day I was trading pics and the other guy said you are two twink looking.

My main beef as that the competition in the twink category is intense. For sites to attract new members they resort to creating fantasies that are very borderline.

An example is a banner for hmboys w/ 2 very young models and its says when the parent are away the boys will play. Or what about these school boy secrets sites. Or even what does the hs in hsboys stand for? high school?

If you just put up a link and say click here for hsboys.com, Many a surfer will click thinking they are getting pics of highschool boys.

I BELIEVE that in the porn industry there was one or two lawsuits where studios were sued not because they had under age model but because they put models in a situation where a fantasy was created that was inapproiate. An extreme example would be release a porn title called Junior High Fuck Buddies. Even if the models are all 18, you are creating an underage fantasy.

I just feel that many of the twink sites are doing this type of marketing/branding. And with the justin dude and the cobra brat it's just bringing attention to a market that by it's own way of marketing/branding is already hurting itself.

But lets face it a banner that says when mom and dad are away the boys will play pull better than a banner that say click here for the hottest 18-21 years old on the net.

I mean who is to say IF the justice department goes to one of my link list, goes to a site that had legal content, but follows a link to a mega twink site that is not 2257 compliant and gets charged in a lawsuit, technically I am responsible for linking to that site (indirectly).
