We were tossing around video titles tonight for our next production. We have a title called "melon balls" coming out soon, as well as one called "Big 9" which is the size of the muscle guy in the video.....but anyway...back to the subject at hand...

What would happen if we produced a gay asian adult video titled.....

"The Passion of the Rice"?

How many republicans would it piss off?

Would we have jesus freaks camped outside our offices, if not having our offices blown up?

Would we incur the wrath of the GWB Justice Department?

I thought probably best not to produce this title.....for a zillion reasons....but it sure sounded funny ..

Your thoughts on producing this title?

Personally I think the rice stuff is a bit insulting to Asians, but I am all for pissing off the religious right, I do not think you can make them hate you more than they do.

I do love the idea of a “Passion” parody, but like my British friends say in for a penny in for a pound, if your going to do it do it all the way or do not do it at all.

It will take some real balls to do that, and could blow up in your face, but even bad press is good press as long as its legal

Harccore Christians would threaten not to compare Ma'am Rice with Jesus otherwise they will call for Apocalypse, now! You would look out of the window wondering why all those people are on your lawn, yelling and threatening at the guy they think did all those evil, evil deeds - that guy next to your window... The flow of information was not too good yet

I think you would get maybe threat-emails by christians - maybe not. Mr Rice is way too occupied to watch gay porn in her office - she leaves that to her secretaries...

Look - if EON Films' Rocky is producing "The Dicks of Hazzard" which is very close to the Duke series and doesn't get into trouble (and I believe competitors are more serious about trouble and govt) you should give it a go in your thoughts

Were you thinking for just the 'Title' or are you planning on Shooting the content with that sort of theme?

I think the results would vary depending on the above.

Depending on the content, I think you'd be fine. If you just did some Asian fuck scenes, I'm not even sure that the religious zealots would "get it".

Now, if you showed an Asian guy on the cross getting blown or something then you might have some issues...

Maybe your right, but what if I made a ebony movie and called it Passion of the Watermelon, or a Latino movie and called it Passion of the Taco, people would really want to crucify me then for sure. That was just part of my thinking, just joking about it will piss some people off. I am sure its a bit apples and oranges maybe but it is weird how that stuff works sometimes

I wouldn't worry about the Republicans. "Rice" is kind of broad. You could be referring to Anne Rice. I would think Passion of the Rice would lampoon Democrats.... referencing Donna Rice's extramarital yachting fling with Colorado Senator Gary Hart which ended his 1988 Presidential campaign, who would have probably beaten Michael Dukakis for the Democratic nomination that year. An interesting what if scenario.....

And I also think that the Rice reference is potentially pejorative. Would you be comfortable releasing an all Black movie named Fried Chicken Freaks ?
