WTF?!? - My Shoulder And Neck Is All Fucked Up Again

A few days ago i figured i pulled my neck doing some work in the garden however, now, im not so sure.

I woke up about 45 minutes ago and my neck and left shoulder is hurting like hell

Has this happened to any of you folks and, if so, other than get dosed up on tylenol, how did you treat it?

We just got new pillows a few days back which helped get rid of the pain from last weeks incident and now its back i cant help but think there is something im not recognizing thats causing this.

I sleep in all kinds of awkward positions and have woken up with sore neck or shoulder.

I hurt my neck/shoulder/back a long time ago snowboarding and now its very prone to injury. Whenever it flares up I find the best drugs to fix it are NSAID's, in particular the best I find is ibuprofen because it reduces the infammation that causes the pain in the first place. There are other anti-inflammatories but Ibuprofen is the best IME.. That, and lots of heat on the affected area.
Nurofen or Nurofen+ with codeine is what I take and it usually clears up in a few days.

Lee - I've been having similar troubles too. I'm not sure what caused it, but last week I bent down to pick up (of all things) my laundry basket. When I stood up my entire upper back and right shoulder hurt. For a few days it was really sore to twist in that direction. It is getting better finally, but still a little tender. I know the weather isn't helping, its rained here almost every day for the last 5 in a row. Its even raining again right now... I take Aileve for the pain, and at night I use some Absorbine Jr. It comes in this green glass jar and you apply it with this sponge tip on the jar and it really does help. It smells a little bit, so if you put it on, you might not be that popular, but it is effective... Good luck getting better!

You may want to sport a bid, if you are going to follow my advice.

Go and see a good chiropractor! I've had chronic back and neck problems and with regular chiro and massage it's nearly 100% fine all the time.

That reminds me, one time my friends were all over for the weekend and we were pulling the bed out of the sleeper couch when one of my friends noticed a used condom under the couch. They looked at me and said, "that's really gross". I said, (very innocently, mind you) I didn't know it was there... I was blindfolded!!!"
