Video Download Problems
Hi guys,
I purchased a video clip from a gay porn site. Rather than a PPV or membership site, surfers can buy the actual video clip, download it, and keep it. I'm having trouble downloading the video. It continually stalls.
I'm using Windows XP, high-speed cable connection. I've tried downloading it in Firefox, IE, and Opera, with Norton Anti Virus turned on and off. I can't figure out what the problem is. The site isn't having problems downloading it, nor do they seem to be getting complaints like mine.
Any ideas on what might be the problem.
Cheers,
Michael

Words paint the real picture
check the IE lock option. It can screw downloads up without you knowing it.

what the hell is IE Lock and where do I find it?

Sorry, Michael, but all I can recommend to you is to shut down all security software.
You already tried N's AntiVirus, but are you running N's Security (firewall etc) as well? Best to shutdown it all down.
Also, maybe make sure you are not downloading (streaming etc) anything else.
Just some suggestions.
I do not want to offend, but the only time I've heard of something like this (from our members) was when the person ran out of drive space, but I am sure you know to keep that in mind.

Maichael,
Do you know how they protect it? And does it stall at the same point every time?
Some sites do tricks like change the url of the video every few minutes and checks for the correct referring link.
If behind a proxy or firewall you may not be sending them that info.
You dsable your firewall?
I dont think its has to do with the lock feature whatever that is if you are having problems on all browsers.
IF it locks at the same point all the time it MAY be an issue with them and that video.

virgin by request ;)
first thing i would do is get in touch with the site owners that you bought the video from

Hey guys,
I was in touch with the site owner, they were very helpful, but we just couldn't figure it out. Finally in the afternoon it worked just fine, so I'm thinking that perhaps a flakey cable connection might have been the problem.

Awesome, and I am glad you got things worked out, however I did give myself a smack on the head for not thinking of that (connectivity issues).
