X Biz Over and it was great!

Another show over, and on to Florida in a few short weeks!

The XBiz summer forum was a first time event, so a lot of people stayed away wanting to see how well the show was put together. A lot of regulars did show up and some new faces too. I am glad I went to this show because it was well organized, fun, and provided a lot of good opportunities to meet and do business.

The show was held at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas, arguably one of the coolest hotels and the pool just rocked. Many parts of it were sand beach, plus it had swim up bar and swim up gaming tables. The cabanas around the pool were a perfect replacement to the outdated show floor booth concept.

The pool parties each night were perfect casual networking and mingling opportunities--the food was very good and in sufficient quantities [I have never seen a complimentary buffet with enough cooked shrimp but these guys had mounds of it! plus lobster on the buffet --amazing] plus the music was low enough to have conversations. The little details like candles around the pool showed a lot of planning went into this event.

My only complaints are really against the hotel itself-- the seminar room felt cold all the time and the pool bar was understaffed so it took a long time to get a $6 Diet Coke. Other than that no complaints! There were many good things about this show that illuminated the amount of attention to detail and needs of the attendees. There was a person at an X Biz desk across from hotel registration that told us where to go for the seminar registration , which was easy to find and apparently never had more than a 2 minute wait. Plus --get this -- the people staffing the registration desk even recognized names so it was like, "Oh, you're chadknowslaw. I know you. Welcome to the show!" Hotel security was present but they were always very friendly and polite, even joking sometimes. I felt like we were definitely welcome at the Hard Rock, even us homos. Even me --smoking, gay pornography lawyer. THAT takes tolerance!

Some of the new faces included Derek from Python and April from AEBN. Tim, Greg, Holly, Chandie, Michelle, Michael, Ben, Patrick, Andy, Robert, Dwayne, Craig, Rainey, Miranda, Cliff, and many others enjoyed the sun, heat, and casual atmosphere of the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino this week. Thank you everyone for a great time!

I am sure JFK will have pics up soon at www.fubarwebmasters.com .

I myself had a ton of fun, was nice to meet some of the faces behind the forum names. Did anyone have problems with the wireless at the hotel? Most i ever got was 1 or 2 bars and it was dropping me every 2 or 3 minutes. Made checking and responding to email "fun".

It was my very first event, and I had a blast! I'm still detoxing!

I was so happy to meet everyone that I had talked to on GWW, emails, and IM. Eveyone is so much fun and made me feel so welcome - It can be difficult to be the "new guy", and especially when the new guy is from pythonpays! :goofy: But it felt like I have been around for years, thanks!!

I was also very happy to have met a lot of new people in the industry (like myself) that I had not talked to before! Plus chillin out with eveyone pool side, and at the Cybersocket parties was to much fun!

I'm totally looking forward to Gay Pheonix!! Hope to see eveyone again, and those of you who I didn't get to meet in Vegas!

    Dry Humps,
    Derrick

PS - Thank you to those who took me under your wing!

Chad - are you going to be doing any of the seminars in Florida, or are you just coming to hang out poolside?

I am moderating a panel on offshore incorporation in Florida. Most companies are not big enough or want to create an offshore entity for the wrong reasons so hopefully the panel will be helpful.

Cory and Gabe were at Xbiz in Vegas representing the WEGCash team. I'm sorry to have missed it:err:

I heard it was great though - although I'm assuming it was hot as hell in Vegas in July!

I have to say as my first show ever that Xbiz was amazing. I met so many new people and finally got to put names/icq contacts with the faces. I was very nervous to attend a show but everyone there made me feel at home like I had been with them forever. Many props to Xbiz and everyone that attended this show. You guys are the best.
