    Youtube-like Flash player

I'm trying to find a program that will encode a Flash video so it displays an image that is clickable to start the video like youtube.com uses.

I don't want videos to automatically start but I don't want a blank video screen sitting on my page. I want something that looks like this...

I went throught the features and don't see it mentioned anywhere. I even read through a bunch of pages of their help forum.

C'mon... Bec... Patti? I bet one or both of you have any answer.

You sure it wasn't a breeze that caused THAT thing to spring to attention?

Ah yes jIgG... I forgot to plead for your help! Bec is the queen of scripts... Patti is the queen of video and jIgG is the king (or queen, your choice ) of everything FREE! Lol

I was just browsing their support forum and I think there is a way to set a default jpeg to show through. If so, it's exactly what I wanted! Thanks. I'll let everyone know if it works.

Well, after a day of being in way over my head, I came up short on the Flash player that jIgG linked to. It only plays .flv files and the resulting video was a jerky mess. I'm sure I just screwed up something in the encoding process.

It did neatly display a .jpeg as a default image over the non-playing video. The results can be seen here near the bottom of the page http://www.uknakedmen.com/index3.html.

Now if I could just figure out what I did wrong in the encoding process and swap out the annoying "click to play" graphic and replace it with a nice youtube-like button, I'd be set. But alas, I don't know Flash and my attempt to learn it was a miserable failure. Why can't Macromedia make an intuitive interface?
