Hey all! I've been swamped covering the Outfest Gay and Lesbian Film Festival for Frontiers (you can read all about the festival in my extensive coverage at www.frontiersblog.com), but now that the fest is over, I'm back on the boards and looking forward to seeing what everyone is up to.
Those who read AVN Online -- and you know who you are -- will notice a surprising new look with the launch of our August issue (our annual "industry trends" issue). Boasting a sleek new look and design, AVN Online features the same commitment to quality coverage of the adult Internet community, but with even more stories, features, news and now reviews packed into every issue.
Gay webmasters may be especially pleased to find my 5-page expose' on the straight-guy niche. Titled "Straight Guy for the Queer Eye," the story features quotes from many GWW members, including Jasun Mark, Mark Erickson, Harlan Jaffe, Chip White, Tim Hamilton, Squirt, Andy Fair, and Joe Sterner, as well as industry stalwarts such as Chi Chi LaRue, Jake Cruise, AmateurStraightGuys' Doug and Jay, and others. The story takes a well-balanced, two-sided look at the oft-touchy issue of marketing straight men to the gay community. and is indicative of the magazine's desire to deliver quailty, thought-provoking commentary on issues of particular relevance to the gay webmaster community. The August issue will distributed during the upcoming Internext convention in Florida, though those of you who are on our distro list will probably receive yours before that.
